Yup you do... it annoys me and my dad's Golf VI is the same. I think it's silly because if you're driving along and you see a parked car flash its highbeams you think they're warning you of something.
My previous Golf Vs and mum's 07 Passat would do it automatically if the headlight switch was on Auto, don't know why they changed it.

Thanks at least I don't fill silly now after reading the manual and coming to that conclusion. How ridiculous is that! Even ford can manage a better system. Thanks again.

Well I applied Nanolex two days ago to my four 18" wheels, thanks to my wonderful girlfriend. We pulled each wheel off, cleaned them up and applied the Nanolex to the entire wheel before putting the wheel back on. It took us 3 hours to do it but hopefully it will be a great result. How's that for detailing dedication?

So I tried out launch control last night. One thing I noticed that the manual doesn't mention is you need to turn auto-hold off. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The first couple of times I tried it I couldn't get the revs up. The revs dropped! I managed to work it out and got them up to about 3200 and took off. To me it just feels like dumping the clutch in a DSG. It's fast but not as neck jerking as I hoped. I think I feel like a tool revving that high before I take off.

I know when BMW first released their version of launch control they only recommend something like using it once every hour. What are people thoughts on this for the Tig? I warmed the engine up and the oil to 100 degrees before I tried the launch control.

Yep ... definitely tool, especially if you also have a "baby on board" sign on the back!

But definitely agree the sensation isn't there with LC (certainly in a stock Tig).

Definitely felt it when I had a Mk5 GTI Stage 1 (SuperChips).

But back in those days, axle tramp and wheelspin in the wet was equally as embarassing!

Something I'd have to say doesn't exist in a Tig!

But jeez, I wish someone (SuperChips and the like) could hurry up and find a way to remove the chastity belt from my VAG (pardon the pun)!

You've had that ache in your VAG for a while now, aussietig. Surely someone out there has just what that poor little neglected, padlocked VAG needs?

Please, transporter, no more infraction points?

If you guys want some more performance, have a look here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...ing-56616.html

and then go visit your nearest APR dealer. I can wheelspin all 4 wheels (and they are sticky 235s) quite easily in the dry .... never mind the wet ....

Well aware of what the engine's capable of and what needs to be done!

In fact, CAI installed already and waiting for Stage 1+!

But unfortunately, I'm one of the lucky ones that has the Bosch encryption that the tuners can't crack at the moment!
