Good stuff team_v hows the new added power much difference?
Thanks for the info Transporter.
I will have a look at it when i get home and make sure.
I think the varied angle of the photos makes the O2 sensor look a bit more variably angled angled than it really is.
I am sure APR and Mike would have realised that the O2 sensor issues but i will contact them and ask anyway.
Thanks for the heads up

I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
Hey DubSteve.
The power increase is quite noticable and actually feels smoother than the stage 1 map which was a little jerky for me.
Torque seems to have increased and power comes on even earlier in the rev range.
Gear changes also show less of a drop in rev's over the stage 1 map for some reason.
Haven't fully put it through it's paces as of yet since i had the stock pipe and intake int eh back of the car on the way home but i am hoping to give it some on the weekend.
With 210kw i am within close range of Evo X (217) and WRX STI (221) power.

Thanks for the pics team_v - how hideous is the stock pipe!? Who does that, honestly, putting a great big catalytic converter STRAIGHT off the turbo!? pfff, german engineering
Do you have the option of stage I as well as stage II tune - ie - switch between? I'd be curious to see if you got a CEL on stage I, or stock for that matter!
Any pics of the new DP at the turbo connection/flange??....
Very jealous mate - hope you have fun with it on the weekend!
Cannot agree more on the aesthetics of the stock downpipe.
It looks hideous but must do something of use to be designed that way.
I believe i only have the option of Stage II and stock map, can't switch back to stage 1 that i am aware of.
Wll see how it goes on the stock map for you.
the turbo is a real pain as it's located right at the back of the engine and surrounded with heat shielding.
Will try to get some shots of the connection for you as well.
Has me wondering what else i would need to do to get to stage 3 (i know it would be turbo swap and intercooler but there is bound to be other things)
Probably don't need to go any further with it as it is my daily and i am happy with how quick it is now.
I'm hoping APR bring out a TSI K04 kit...
Don't think I'd take a punt on the AWE version tbh.
-also considering water/meth injection to run the 100 octane tune - nothing like a steam cleaned engine!
- and I would also consider an upgraded turbo outlet pipe, the pancake one looks as badly designed as the DP!
I don't like the look of the dyno graphs for stage III APR kit - sure they have some amazing peak power, but it has nothing down low and really "ramps" up quickly - for a track car, sure, but I like having a driveable car around the streets - K04 is as far as I'd go, it's a smooth delivery of power, a lot flatter than stage III.
HOWEVER, as far as daily driving goes - there are guys in the U.S. who have racked up 50,000miles+ on stage III kit... food for thought
It's a little confusing, but red is K04 and green is APR StgIII - stage III has nothing until almost 4k rpm, torque and hp. I don't know about you guys, but I spend most of my time below 4k around the streets
Essentially what you need is Audi/VW to bring out a K04 engined version of the EA888 TSI engine. May see that in the next gen S3, but thats years away. For now the K04 is not a straight swap like on the old GTI engines .....
I'd be looking at a K04 as well when they make it out ....
The APR downpipe cause the turbo to spool up 800rmin lower in the rev range and thats where the increased low down punch comes from. Its awesome as far as a power mod goes .... my wife DID NOT LIKE the rasping sound it makes .... so bear that in mind.
interesting read on the APR FMIC in your thread Karl, if you got it off APR here you would have received the piping and fitting s with it ..... but at $1995 .... its good, but only worth 3-4kw atw dyno tested unlike the DP thats got 7 ..... it all adds up though ....
Problem with the FMIC is that it increases lag slightly where the DP reduces it. Combining both means you hit the sweet spot .....

The turbo outlet pipe and intercooler would be worthy upgrades if you need more power.
Like KRR, most of my driving is for daily use though so stage 3 isn't really needed.
I rarely get abover 4k RPM unles i am doing a mountian run or winning the traffic light GP.
Interesting about the turbo spooling up 800RPM earlier Sharkie.
I didn't know that Stage 2 did that, hence why the power comes on earlier and feels smoother rather than the stage 1 which is quiet until 1750-2000 when it punches you in the spine.
Might have to pop along to a dyno day when the next local one is on and see how the blue beast goes on the rollers.

Now someone is translating things to my language. I love charts!
Red wins my vote for street driving.
Continue the interesting discussion. I'll keep reading.
