    Well today's the big day.
Car is going in to Mike Webber's to get the prototype downpipe/carbonio intake fitted and ecu remapped which means Stage 2!

I am pleased to report that there is no new issues with the Tiguan and has held stage 1 well, fuel economy is better than I was getting on the stock map and the power on tap is spine jolting.

Car is getting a wash this weekend so we'll see how the nanolex has done sealing it and making it easier to wash clean.

Hoping to get some new shots for you all tonight.

nice one - can't wait to hear your reaction after your first stage II drive!

Any chance you could get some photos of the DP while it's out of the car, and once installed?

    Hey mate.
I didn't get a chance to take some pictures of the prototype pipe.
I have taken some photos of the stock system fitted and will take some of the new pipe fitted when i pick it up this afternoon.
From memory it isn't much different than the stock system, just a lot wider.

Going to give it a bootful on the trip home to see how the performance side feels.
Probably going to push the fuel economy back up into the 9's but i don't really mind

Okay, so initially i was going to go Stage 1 ecu tune only but then i got the power cravings and ended up with stage 2 (contemplating 3 even though i know i shouldn't)

The power on tap is even more surging that it was in stage 1.
Even though it's only another 20kw at the engine, it still feels like it pulls noticably faster.
Rev's don't drop as much between gear changes and the induction noise under acceleration is great.

The downpipe has a slight raspy noise to it but works a treat and have had no issues with it.

Going to keep an eye on the fuel economy and see how it is affected.

Okay some info on the intake for you.
The stock intake is flawed in it's design which allows warm air to be taken into the engine.
Both the front and rear of the intake box has an opening which sucks cold air in from the front and warm air in from the rear.

The carbonio is sealed and only allows cold air from the front to be taken in.
It also eliminates much of the intake piping from intake box through to the filter and then to the engine.

    Some pictures.

Shot of the stock downpipe on the TSI tig's
Notice how thin it is and all the restriction points along it.

Maybe it is just the angle you took that picture from but check the angle of that O2 sensor. For proper function and optimum life the sensor must be installed inclined at least 10 deg. towards horizontal (electrical connection upwards). Thus preventing the collection of liquids between sensor housing and sensor element during engine worm ups...
