Had another successful day out at happy laps.
Temps were 33 degrees with no clouds so the kumhu KU31's started to go soft after about 15-20 minutes.
Everyone was struggling with tyre/brake temps for the event.
Very nice

Very nice !! So sad we don't have anything slimier to happy laps in Melbourne
Are you running any logs in your car? I know you got APR front mount so how about car performance under high temps, does it experience any heat soak issues?
Here we are having few warm days and I am already experiencing bit lack of power and intake temps go close to 50C when ambient temps around 30C. When car moving it comes down but in slow moving traffic temps starts to creep up.

Haven't done any logs as I have the stock intercooler, only have the apr intake.
I did have a read of the intercooler thread and have to work out if the Golf R/S3 intercooler is worth the upgrade from a gen 1.
The track temps were pretty hot up here as well as the ambient air temperature was pretty warm and even the AD08R shod cars were having problems with the heat in teh formal track session after us.
It gets very costly when looking into upgrades though becasue you then ask why not go with water injection or a better coolant.
I already have the Dot 4 brake fluid and it was starting to get a bit soft.
My experience is that intake temps can rob power quite lot than we think. It is quite noticeable here because greater temp variation from near 0C to 40C sometimes and car changes its behavior significantly. I love to keep temps less than 20C degrees but impossible without chemical cooling.
If you keeping the car longer consider upgrading the intercooler, it will be very helpful for your track sessions.Water-meth will be a great addition too but bit of a hassle in a daily driver.

Speaking of temps, was driving wife's Tig on the freeway yesterday and noticed oil temps as high as 115 deg. Is that normal or should I be concerned?
What does your oil get up to out on a hot track session, Clay?
I've noticed mine get up to 115 once on a hot day (40) driving through the countryside. I think it's fine, but maybe if it were a regular occurrence you would just go with more frequent oil changes.

Have you tried Motul RBF600 or RBF660? I've been using the stuff for many years (mainly in turbo Nissans) and it's never let me down on the track.
It's officially a DOT4 fluid,but it's rated to a dry boiling point of 312 deg. C. That's for the RBF600,the 660 is a little higher again.

I should have checked yesterday but i forgot to keep an eye out.
I have seen it range from 102 - 115 with no issues at previous events and I haven't upgraded it to anything higher rated like i have with the brake fluid.
The Brake Fluid is Penrite Sin Dot 4.
I believe they now offer Sin Super Dot 4 which has a higher rating again.
Nothing new to update but i got a new picture to share.
Car is now 4.5 years old, same factory delivered battery with no symptoms of needing to be replaced any time soon.
