Had our monthly euro meet and i decided i should get some night shots of the car while i was out.
Really shows off the LED driving lights and rear license plate lights.

Also had the smelly air-con issue so i jumped on ebay and ordered a new cabin filter.
Old one (filter starts white when new) was 6 months old:

Got this one with activated charcoal (hope it lasts 12 months):

Shipped to my door from the UK in 6 working days which was pretty good.
Fitted up in 3 minutes, stinky feet/cheese/mould smell was gone instantly.
I think you'll find the humidity up your way is a major cause of the mouldy filter syndrome. It certainly wouldn't be helping the life of your filter.

All booked in for Recall Campaign 97Z9 (Fuse Thermal Overload).
Have been advised it will be an hour so i get to enjoy the facilities of the VW service centre.
Also recently went out with the lotus club to their happy laps and had a blast, surprised a lot of sports car owners.
Was also fun to see an X5 out and about with the group.
Hahaha, good to see more and more Tiggy owners jumping in the deep end and going for the K04.
I think the problem was the cars were still under warranty for alot of the gen 1 owners so there wasn't really such a push to mod harder than can be reverted to stock in the garage.
I still like the blue but would love to see the Amarok/GTI style red rather than the maroon/burgundy one.
I do love the red as well ..... The Rok in that red is just such a striking package ..... agree would love to see it on a Tig as well.
BTW, keep an eye out for Stg1, 2 and 3(K04) Amarok upgrades in the not too distant future ........ be some happy laps in it then ....
Try turning you’re a/c off a minute or two before you stop the car. It’s a bit annoying to do I know, and sometimes you forget – but I believe the smell is partly caused by moisture from the cold a/c air that’s still circulating. Obviously it builds up over time in the filter.
The original filter in my Golf only lasted about 12 months before it was very stinky. Then I replaced the filter and started turning the a/c off before stopping the car (the fresh air will dry out any moisture). My current filter has been in since April last year (close enough to 12 months) and absolutely no sign of smell yet.
Other people suggested turning off the a/c, so I decided to try it – seems to be working so far. I understand that on a 40c degree day this might not be something you want to do, but I think on most days it should be bearable.
