Going to Lakeside tomorrow morning for another crack, hopefully it isn't as hot as today.
Can really feel the power lacking when the temps reach over 35 degrees.

Another awesome morning out at Lakeside.
The kumho's worked a treat but it really shows you how you would need to do suspensiona nd brake upgrades if you wanted to do anyhting more than regular road driving or spirited laps sessions like we get.
Hi team_v, Just wondering have you done any 0 - 100 timing for your Tig ?
I am following your thread and it is quite inspirational. I am in the process of building up my Tig similar to yours, already flashed it with APR stage 1. My stage 1 Tig with DSG do 0 -100 in 5.9- 5.8 sec and hoping to go down like 5.5 sec with stage 2. I am using android Torque pro app and a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle to measure my 0 - 100 timing and it seams to be accurate.
I am also looking for a suitable downpipe but unfortunately APR has discontinued their product Other option is to import one from http://techtonicstuning.com/ not sure it it would be good as APR's.

I haven't had the chance to do a 0-100 time yet, might see if i can get a benchmark time soon though.
I was initially worried how the clutch would hold up but it has been fine.
A lot of the guys on vwvortex have used the techtonics-tuning downpipe as the APR one was too pricey for them to buy from Australia.
I think it is 2.5 inch instead of 3 inch
I wander how 2.5 inch down pipe is compared to 3 inch in performance gains. Yep it is great to have a benchmark value so we can compare real world performance gains with each power mod we do. I only tried with Stage 1, next would be with carbonio intake.
Have you consider water meth injection with APR 104 map ? I think it could be a good next step from stage 2.

I think you may be in luck - APR here in Australia will be dusting off their DP jigs because they've got a Tiguan drive car now.
Other options you have are Viezu/VAR. Even though their DP for the Tig is not "officially" launched they can/do make them. There's a couple of us that have them. Give Simon at Viezu a call.
The other way you can go is custom fabrication at an exhaust shop. I looked into this 12 months or so ago and it wasn't that bad price-wise given that included fitting also.
If you're going to the expense of changing DP's, go 3". The 3" system has better power gains over the 2.5" without too much increase in noise. I've heard the 3.5" systems are just more noisy - no real performance gain unless perhaps you're going to run a different turbo which may make a difference. On the stock turbo there's no point going bigger than 3".
I don't think anyone has done meth injection on a Tig yet - well not in Australia at least.
Though I'd probably put a turbo upgrade on the list of performance mods before meth injection.
Good to hear that there's another performance enthusiast out there doing mods to their Tig

Had another great morning out at Lakeside, first one since the last service which i had the Penrite Sin Dot 4 brake fluid put in instead of the oem stuff.
Made a big difference to how long the brakes lasted and how quickly they would bite.
Should have some pictures or something up in the next couple of days.
