    Regarding the insurance issue. I have all my mods listed on insurance, so it would make it nigh on impossible for them to not payout because of those mods.
    BUT none of the mods I have done are prima facie illegal, whereas spacers are illegal.

    They are also something that is attached directly to the wheels and in the steering and braking systems. So it would be hard to argue that they don't have some effect on those things.
    Whereas, a pod filter that is listed on insurance could be legal or illegal but it would be hard for anyone to argue that your pod filter caused you to hit the pedestrian or crash.

    I would not fit anything to the car which is illegal that has a physical presence. EG I have bashed out a few cats in my time for off road racing use of course as it is not something anyone is going to check when they are scouring a wrecked car. if the car is totalled they are not going to be able to start it to check emissions.
