To anticipate future dents on my beloved Tiguan's doors, I decided to install side door mouldings. I used the ones made for the Honda CRV. I've got them off Ebay.
I'm wondering if anyone else here has done it. Which ones have you used ? are you happy with the result ?
I would like to post some pictures but I don't know how to do it, could anyone tell me how to do it ?

I fixed it for you. You need to use the "Direct link" url from Photobucket.
Looks decent. There are guys on the MyTiguan forums that have used similar protectors to good effect.

Hi MSP, a few questions if you don't mind -
. are they the ones made by pawa in Poland?
. how do they match with the colour and texture of the mouldings at the bottom of the door?
. do you think they are suitable for painting to match the body colour?
. what is the profile like? how deep? would a close-up be possible?
. did you have to modify them in any way?
. how much including postage?
I am considering buying the original Tiguan Track&Field strips in Europe next June, but these may be an alternative especially if they can be painted.
Joe
- Yes they're from Poland: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/www.pawa.pl/m...1&_from=&_ipg=
- The colour is slightly different (it a bit darker than the bottom moulding)
- They are made of PVC. I don't know about the painting
- I would say it is about 5-7mm thick (need to measure)
- I had to cut one end a bit to match the profile of the rear door. I now think I shouldn't have done it
- It was around AU$85 including postage

For what it's worth I've got a set of "Cobra" mouldings coming from GB and I'll put up some pics once they're here. They're quite a bit dearer (NZ$220 by the time I get them here) but personally I like the fact that they're specific to the Tiguan and have a more rounded shape, though I'd have to say that "generic" ones people are fitting look just fine and I may have gone that route if I'd thought about it.
Cheers
