I would like to buy Brink detachable towbar for my Tiguan.
I want to use it for a Thule bike rack. No towing, no electrics. Much more elegant solution than aussie towbars designed for heavy towing.
There is plenty of sellers in the UK and some in Germany, but so far I haven't been able to find one who will ship to Australia.
Can anybody help, please.

Some Thule racks need all that.
I am planning to buy "Thule HangOn 972" and according to the sales guy I spoke to it would only need a number plate.

I can't help with the shipping mate, but can I advise you to check that you will have somewhere to bolt such a towhitch on. I cut out the plastic under the back bumper to see whether there was the cross member with the pre-drilled holes to bolt the hitch onto, and my Tig doesn't have that. Some overseas models apparently already have the holes already there so the hitch is an easy install, but looks like we have to get the full assembly.
Tiguan TDI, 6spd Tiptronic Auto
Black, sunroof, comfort pack, off-road tech, tan leather, park assist & roof bars.
Avg 7.63L/100km over 189,000kms
Thanks, Arctra
All the Tiguan towbars sold in Europe are "the full thing". They weigh 18kg or so. You remove and throw away the flat bumber reinforcement and insert the towbar. Like the Best Bar available from VW dealers here.
The local towbars are designed for caravans etc and seem to be an overkill for a bike carrier.
The US Tiguans may already have a square pipe cross member, it seems, because US towbar shops only sell a $60 hitch for Tiguans.
