I use LiquiMoly additives(EngineProtect oil additive)from 20,000km in Golf, Touareg and T5 (in T5 from 68,000km for a reason). At every fuel tank I use The Moreys Diesel Engine Smoke Killer with diesel, and every oil change SpeedTec or WURTH CRD diesel fuel additive.

I don't recommend using just about any oil or fuel additives, be careful what you put in the oil or the fuel. Basically, if it comes from Oil company or reputable company and you follow th instructions you should be safe.

I think it was about $150. Unfortunately, I had my drivers side window smashed in just before the service and had to get it replaced at the same time, so the labour charge is split between the service and the window - so I can't recall exactly how much it was.

Picked My Tig last week & recommendation was to bring it in at 7500kms, a few days later I called back for query servicing cost to work out lease running expense....see below

    7500km - $265.00
    15000km - $375.00
    30000km - $435.00
    45000km - $435.00
    60000km - $750.00
    75000km - $365.00
    90000km - $540.00
    105000km - $1500 approx includes TB/WP replacement - (ouch)

How do these figures compare with people experiences.....a bit sussed on the 7500km cost as I thought it was a basic fluid check...

OK, well it looks like the $595 I was charged for the 30,000 km service was over the top.

They create such an atmosphere around the service dept that it seems almost rude or wierd to question th costs. However, any time I have had my previous cars serviced, we always discussed the price openly.

    I would say...shop around.

Oh they also charged me $33.00 for a loan car for the day!

Same here, they told us to bring it in when it is getting close to 15000km for its regular service. A workmate bought a petrol MkVI from Gerald Slaven and they told him about the free 1000Km service and gave him a 1l bottle of oil just in case he wanted to skip it as well as the optional 7500km and wait until the 15000km service.

Wouldn't Michael from CVWC do his own servicing?

For what it's worth I just got the 30,000k check done on my TDi PLUS a warrant of fitness (standard charge of $40 + GST) and fitting my side mouldings ($25 + GST) and the total was NZ$370.89 (incl GST). I don't think that's too bad as I only need it to be serviced once a year.

    Cheers

Around 5000+ , the MFD started flashing yellow "oil can" briefly. Opened the manual & then the bonnet and discovered that the oil level was on the low side. Drove to the dealer and told them I wanted to buy the oil & coolant. They topped the oil & coolant free of cost.
Now, I may have to go again after another 5000KM

not sure if anyone knows this but we just had our first service (15,000 km)and when we went to pick the tig up they said that there was a recall (57D5) which apparently is for the door handles so we had 3 changed .I was wondering if anyone out there has heard of this . I did a quick check on the net and the only thing that i came up with was on the mytiguan forum seems to be something about sticking handles , not a huge problem but i thought i should let you all know. Oh and the cost of our first service was $138.15 but it was only that cheap because we have had lots of problems with our bluetooth , so far we have had 3 units replaced and so far this unit is working fine , so as a jesture for all the trouble they charged us for parts only .
