75W90 Syntrax is perfect.
Not sure on quantities, but the front takes about a litre. The rear maybe 1-2.
I'd recommend giving the front a bit of a flush-out. Based on the ones I've done, the oil that comes out is usually blackended and stinks.
Hi,
Just after some information regarding the front and rear diff in the 2011 tiguan w/ DSG:
What oil should I use (looking at Castrol Syntrax 75w-90) and quantity?
Where is the drain and fill plug on the front diff?
I'm just about to do the haldex coupling and would like to do these too.
Thanks

Ensure you dont mix the haldex and diff oils. There are different drain and fill points for them. Also, the haldex has a filter that isnton the list for a normal service in Australia but is for other market places. I did the lot and DSG for my 105k service in my R32

No filter on the GenIV Haldex in the Tiguan.
But yes, pay close attention to drain and fill plugs on the rear.

Just wanted to make sure the the front diff fluid holes are the 2 hex key bolts in the image. Is that correct?
Yep, that's them.

Thanks for the heads up on not mixing plugs. Luckily you can confirm by smell. The diff smells bad, the haldex, not so bad.
For future reference, the rear diff took around 900ml of fluid and the haldex took 600ml. The front diff took around 800ml.
Buying a tom thumb pump from super cheap made this job really easy as well.
Another question; what brake fluid should be used in the Tiguan.
I use a Tom Thumb myself.
Yeah, Dot 4 is the go for these.
