    Seatbelt Warning Chime - OFF!

For anyone who finds the seatbelt warning chime "slightly" annoying, I've managed to disconnect it without affecting the airbags.

FOR THE RECORD, I wear my seatbelt all the time, without fail, but sometimes on private residence am forced to jump in and out in a short space of time.

The two seats have to be done separately, as they're hooked up to the individual seatbelt buckles.

1.) Right next to the FRONT/INNER side of the OUTER seat rail (both seats) is a piece of carpet that can be pulled away.

2.) Slide the seat all the way back, and raise the seat all the way up to access it and pull it away and reveal some wired connections.

3.) The tricky part (not even to be honest) is which connections to unplug - there are 2 options. A black one and a yellow one.

4.) With a small flat-head screwdriver, pull the tab to one side on the BLACK connection, this will allow you to unplug it.

EASY! The yellow connection is for the airbag function, DO NOT disconnect this.

Essentially, all you are doing is disconnecting the signal from the buckle itself, which then assumes it is done up permanently.

    Cheers.

Hmm, you can also disable it using VCDS (vag-com).

i realise that - but don't have access to VCDS, it was a quick fix with eventual intentions of doing it properly!

    Good to know.

Annoying when anything of weight on teh front seat will set the chime off.

Will certainly be one of the first mods' i do when i get the car until i can do it properly with vagcom.

That's so true - was going to mention that aspect also.
I have bags on the passenger seat all the time, drives me mad - it's incredibly sensitive too.. Only takes ~5kilos i reckon to set it off. Give or take
