Rust on discs after car wash

Is this normal? Gave the wheels a good spray and within 2 days, all 4 discs are now badly rusted!

It's just surface rust. Have a drive around the block and your normal braking will grind back the rust and the rotors will be shiny again.

Take one of the wheels off and see the rust on the hub !!!

You will quickly forget about surface rust on the discs

Thanks so much for your quick replies. I contacted VW and they confirmed it too. At least my missus won't be having any more kittens!

I found that if I washed the car and didn't move the car till the next day the brakes seize. Makes a definate bang when they free up when I move the car. Now I always take it for a quick spin to diperse any water from the brakes. First time it happened I siht bricks.

    Don't put the handbrake on

Assuming your parking spot is level

That's an option. I take it for a spin as a pre inside wheel clean these days so doesn't happen anymore.

Every VAG I've ever owned has done this, worried me at first like yourself but the dealer pointed out even the cars in the showroom had it. Something you'll get used to!

    Get use to it.

Will also happen when you're car is parked outside under heavy rain.
