Right hand side rear view mirror, 2010 Tiguan Black

Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster. My beloved Tiguan has fallen victim to a hit and run recently, someone clipped my right hand side, rear view mirror. Although it was only a tiny clip, which just damaged the outer cover and took some plastic off the indicator, I fear I will need to replace the entire mirror. The problem with this is I can't find a mirror (or even a mirror cover), anywhere. The mirror is full functional (the indicator and motors work fine), but I know it won't pass a roadworthy with the indicator missing a slither of plastic (not cracked, just 2mm shaved off, maybe I could fill it with epoxy). (The car will be traded in soon). Anyone have any idea where I can get either a cheap OEM, replica, or second hand mirror replacement? I've emailed some wreckers here in Melbourne and had no luck thus far.

Doesn't sound too bad from your description, why do you think it won't pass an inspection?
Maybe provide some detailed photos to show what you are talking about.

It won't pass the roadworthy because the indicator needs to be perfect to do so. The plastic cover was ever so slightly broken at the tip, and it means you can't actually clip the cover onto the mirror. At the moment it is held on by tape. I've tried ebay, I could only find two black mirrors, both from the USA, with shipping I was looking at around $200-250 for a second hand mirror. There was nothing else.

it might be cheaper to buy the chrome top covers there is heaps on ebay because if you buy a new top cover it will need painting unless they have them prepainted ring your VW dealer

You still require the original top cover as it clips to the bottom cover to hold it all together, shouldn't cost more that $20-30 to repaint.
