    retrofit leather seats?

hi guys i'm new here. looking to buy a 2nd hand tiguan 4wd but it seems i just cant find that perfect car i'm after.
my budget is around $30k-$35k depending on the condition and options of the car. my main preference is low K white/black tiguan with beige leather seats but its so hard to find the combo thats with in budget. so what i like to know is if its possible to retrofit those original leather seats on a tiguan? where? and how much would i spend?

any suggestions will be appreciated thanks

Wouldn't the rest of the car trim need to match the beige seats though? Might look a bit silly otherwise.

I did a refit with beige leather on a Honda previously. Cost about $3k and included door inserts and centre armrest/console lid.

Replaced all fabric trim with leather. Was pretty happy with the end result.

Good thing was the carpets were still black as opposed to factory fitted beige carpet with beige leather. Beige carpets are PITA to keep looking clean. A bit of a 2-tone interior but end result looked quite good.

The only thing with a leather retrofit in the Tiguan is you obviously won't get electric/heated seats or the rear trays.

Leather seats was on our wish list too when we bought our Tig but couldn't fit into our budget (or find a car with the options at the right price) . Having said that we're happy with the cloth trim and now we have it wouldn't go spending the $ to retrofit unless we fell over some leather seats in a hail damaged vehicle.

thanks tigger for the info. did you get it done at a dealership or a custom trimmer? spending extra $3k is not a issue because it opens up a lot more cheaper choices.
saw an ad on car sales for a black/beige MY10 tig with 25KM asking price for $40k when you can buy a new tig for 41k with leather trim fitted.

I bought the car as a demo (Honda Accord) through a dealer and they took it to a trimmer and got it done. I did get a pretty good deal on the car as the dealer was keen to shift the vehicle and pretty much fitted the leather at cost.

We missed out on getting a sunroof (would have had to get the Vti-L) but saved us about $6k in the process, so we were happy.

If you're dead keen on leather then this would be an option... perhaps black paint with red leather????

We did consider doing something a little unique, but then the resale could take a hammering if it wasn't to everyone's taste.

Depends how long you're going to keep the car and whether you're going to get value/enjoyment out of it.

Nice thing about retrimming a second hand car is that you're sitting on brand new seats and don't have anyone else's chips/pizza/spilt coke/etc in the fabric.

Bear in mind that if you do get the seats retrimmd in leather it may affect the in-seat side airbag so you would have to look into the legalities/insurance ramafications of this.

I'm pretty sure the seats still had the airbag tags. If you go somewhere reputable then I'm sure they would be "air-bag compliant". But certainly worth asking the question.

Was looking for some second hand part options and came across a wrecker in Brisbane selling a Tiguan with Black leather seats which still seamed intact May be worth an enquiry. The photo also showed it had an RNS 510 fitted as well!

Will be interesting to see what value they place on the seats.
Unfortunately the leather seats in the Gen 1 weren't sports seats rather they were a comfort oriented option.
