    Every brake disc I saw had MIN TH stamped or casted in it. The trouble is with the VW discs that, when you replacing the pads the discs are already on min th. limit, so they can't be machined; but if they are just warped and done lets say 8,000km since new they can be machined to correct them.

    I always buy genuine ATE brake discs from VSI Imports for the fraction of the cost what VW dealers are selling them for

    I know what you're saying Transporter, and there's nothing technically wrong with machining discs. But you wouldn't want to take too much off them. These discs are designed to wear, so in essence, machining them is actually shortening their lifespan somewhat.
