    Bulk buy on LEDs anyone?
    Thanks for the diagrams

I am definitely going to try souricng LED's for this now.
From memory as the4y are low output lights you don't need the ones with resistors as they won't throw a fault code?

Also i believe they are 37mm bulbs?

I have changed every interior (you can think of) to LED including boot, vanity & footwell!
As well as the exteriors (f & r).

Interiors don't throw any fault code. But exteriors will! So buy ones with in-built resistors.

Looking at the pics posted, there appears to be a difference between cars with and without sunroof.
For me, the front bulbs were the easiest to install.
However the rear passenger lights directly above each door was the toughest to work out.

For consistency of colour, I would suggest you buy LEDs with the same Kelvins all round. With that in mind, I would suggest Pure White (5000K). There's definitely a big difference between Cool White and Pure White. So double check with sellers first, if they don't specify the colour.

At night, the whole cabin looks like its lit up under fluoro tubes.

But would suggest you buy the expensive ones (i.e. 37mm) that are fit for use as licence plates, as they tend to be the brightest for the interior.

As for parkers ... don't go for LEDs with a big head or bulb, as will not fit in the hole. Has to be the same diameter all along as the end plug.

Also the no. plate light should not throw the fault code, so you can use the led without the resistor.

can I ask you a few questions please aussie:
    - where did you source yours from?
    - how did you replace the footwell ones? I popped one out, but it appears to be a sealed unit.
    - did the number plate light throw a fault code (had lots of conflicting comments about this).

    thanks.

Generally ... just eBay and pick a power seller. But suggest Kaizen Motors on eBay or HIDConcept website for the no error LEDs.

Just a small flat head or knife/cutter to bend & flick the sides of the sealed unit. Aim for the side notches. After you finish, just bend it back into shape.

I definitely have licence plate fault code ocassionally appear on the dash (even with the no error LEDs). Goes on and off temperamentally.
The light doesn't annoy me enough to bother with it or to clear it with VCDS.
They definitely work, even with the fault code!
Just try and work out (when inserting the first time) which side is positive and negative with these LED festoons, as it seems to be the first cause of the error when inserted the wrong way and will not function.

I would be happy to get the interior map lights and maybe the rear licence plate lights in a brighter white.

Fellas, this is the online store and brand (Blesk) I'd recommend to you.

    Specifically:
Error free 37mm festoon (in pure white 5000K)
Application: Licence plates; rear passenger bulbs (if want max. brightness).
Note 1: It also appears that front passenger bulbs are festoon on Tigs with no sunroof.
Note 2: Pricing is for 1 festoon only. You need a pair for most applications.

Error free T10 bulbs (in pure white 5000K)
    Application: park lights.
Note: Pricing is for a pair.

As mentioned, for other interiors bulbs you don't need to go for error free.

Finally, it would be remiss of me not to remind those upgrading their park lights to LED, to also upgrade your D1S HIDs to 5000K to colour match.

    ONLY FOR THOSE WITH SUNROOF
For interior map light, I recommend a big kahuna (T10 bulb) like this that gives you almost 360 degree projection.

Don't need anything too fancy or any longer than Johnny Holmes (in case you can't put the plastic glass cover back on)!

Also, most of these cheap ones provide free shipping (if from Hong Kong). So no Group Buy needed.

Got my interior bulbs in today. Looks great at night. Put blue LEDs in the footwells which I wasn't sure of, but now they're in, looks better than I thought, so all happy . Great upgrade for only a few $$$.
