Has anyone heard of the Remote start feature for a Tiguan?

I thought I noticed that this is availabble in overseas models.

It would be a great feature to regulate the internal temp of the cabin before jumping in...on cold mornings or hot days.

Not avilable here, nor in the US i believe.
To be honest it isn't really necessary and could end up causing problems as the key's are linked to the VIN now to stop theft.

It's available on the Q5 (I have the brochure). But according to the dealer not all features are available for Oz.
I don't remember it been available on the German Tiguan though.

I'd be happy just with keyless entry however it was not available for order here. Maybe it will come on the 147s.

For 2011 , "Both engines are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. The updated Tiguans also get new keyless access and push-button starting," but I don't think that incudes remote starting

You can always buy either a viper or cobra remote start system,just google those three words. They even have a iPhone app that you can use to start your car.
