FYI Also found the product info sheet for the DIP3 from the wynn Australia site with a product number. PDF file has the wynns Aussie address on it, so it would definately be available in Aus. Try this link http://www.wynns.net/product_files/d...29%2022693.pdf

Had the Tig serviced yesterday, $270 as Team_V said. Much cheaper than any dealers I rang.

They put in the Wynns additive, but I forgot to ask them about it, so still not sure what its for?
    Cheers

Outside servicing isnt an issue with your warranty. BUT where it all changes is when your car is out of warranty, and lets say your 6months out of warranty and your DSG kicks the bucket.

The person who has full service history with VW has a very good chance of a 'goodwill' claim where as the person with no VW history is virtually left with no chance at all.

There is where the benefit lies with dealer servicing.

As long as you can prove that the car was serviced to VW specification I don't think it makes any difference. It may delay the repair but it will get repaired.

Check the consumer affairs site for your rights to repairs after the warranty.

Yeah usually in those cases VW does ask for the full history and invoices from outside repairers to confirm services were done to dealer spec.

Perhaps it's different in Victoria or with different models, but the first service on my 103TDI was only $240 from the dealer who sold it to me. I was expecting to pay more.

    Recommended workshop for 15,00km service?

As I do not particularly trust car dealers, I was wondering if anyone around the southern suburbs of Sydney can recommend a workshop for our 15,000km service?
Not sure at the moment who to go to.
I see there is a place at Narellan, but that is abit far.
Ideally I am after somewhere in the "Shire".
    Thanks for any suggestions.

On that note, which of the three VW dealers (I know about Golfwagen - and although they have stellar reviews, are not dealers) in WA have the reputation for the best service experience? Wangara, Osborne Park or Melville?

The place at Narellan is actually Campbelltown (Camden GTI). I commute out there daily from just next to Tom Uglies & it takes 35-45mins most days. From Heathcote, whip down to the Appin Road & cut across. It's still not far & a nice drive.

I noticed there was a VW specialist at Peakhurst the other day but I think it was more for parts than repairs -can't remember the name.
