i thought it was inbuilt into the firmware? didnt know it was an extra module.

anyways it came with my car so i dont really know, but they are indeed very helpful, you can get the park perfect cause you can see exactly where you're gonna be.

Looks good Aussietig may I humbly suggest you add that tweak to your Tiguan VCDS link . I always wondered about how that option was activated for those that had sensors already fitted and upgraded their head units and added a RVC as well

Ok I see you have already done it excellent

Yeah, just cracked out my VCDS cable again, and it isn't the electronics, it is 10-Park/Steer Assist, which I see has been discussed now, sorry for sending on a wild goose chase (the electronics module has many many bytes and 3 components!)

Hi all - hoping somebody can shed some light on the following...installed a low line camera (without control module) over the weekend on my 2011 147 TSI and what an interesting job that was, anyway, enabled the backup camera in module 37 and low and behold after rebooting the RNS510 it works as it should although you need to press the RVC in the OPS screen to get it work. After reading aussietig's post (big thanks btw) I am trying to enable the RVC together with the OPS so it will appear on the LHS as per the pic below so if I get into Module 10, Byte 0, Bit 5 and select the 'Rear view camera installed' is throw up the message 'Coding rejected Error 31: request out of range' now I have a towbar and wiring installed so have tried the other options and all 3 fail so what have I missed? I did find an option in the CAN gateway to enable the RVC (Byte 5, Bit 6) but wanted to check to see if anyone has similar issues before I start fiddling with a few boxes - any help appreciated

Of all places, to enable OPS to appear together with RVC on screen (if you have both) requires ticking an extra box in Module 10 - Park/Steer Assist. Makes perfect sense now (the location) in hindsight!

Prior to doing this, I only did this coding in Module 37 - Navigation:

And only got this when I select reverse gear:

Then had to press the RVC icon on screen to get this:

Now when I did this in Module 10, Byte 0, Bit 5:

I now get this automatically when I select reverse gear (i.e. no need to press RVC icon):

And also a big fcuking grin wider than Steve Tyler.

    Time to retire!

I think your issue lies solely with the coding of module 10 only. You do not need to activate anything in the CANbus module 19 that is only if you are fitting the advanced RVC which has a separate box mounted in the rear of the vehicle.
Suggest you do a full Autoscan and send it Support at Ross Tech theymay be able to help providing you are a registered cable owner with them otherwise have a word with Aussietig as he appears to be the only other 147 owner that has a basic RVC retrofitted and also has a module 10 fitted

Yes there appears to be some secrets in getting RNS510 working with RVC. I've got RCD510 and it was pretty much enable the option and it worked first time.

Thanks for the response and makes perfect sense so have carried out exactly what you have suggested and sent a copy of the Auto-Scan to Ross-Tech (I am the registered owner of the tool) so if I get the fix I will post it so we all know

Definitely no special trick. It should just work!

Agree with what the others have said.

Suspect it does have something to do with your towbar and wiring (which I don't have) requiring some other tweaking.

    *Follow Up*
After firing off an email to Ross-Tech this was their response:

    Start==

I searched for all instances of "5N0 919 475 B" in our email database
and the results limited to a handful of VW Tiguans. Most had the RCD
rather than the RNS, but 69-Trailer was not installed and they were
coded to 100002 -or- 100102 for Automatic transmission. This is a
random example of a RNS model:

    Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J446) Labels: 3C8-919-475.clb
    Part No SW: 5N0 919 475 B HW: 5N0 919 475
    Component: PARKHILFE 4K H07 0023
    Revision: -------- Serial number: 11131023104369
    Coding: 100102

    Address 56: Radio (J0506) Labels: 1T0-035-680.clb
    Part No SW: 1T0 035 680 H HW: 1T0 035 680 H
    Component: RNS-MID H61 3970
    Revision: AB001001 Serial number: VWZ6Z7M6046187
    Coding: 04000402040000A00000

So, I believe you are correct and this appears to be a limitation of
    that #10 module.

    ==END

So if anyone has any further tips or advice with coding the RVC to appear with the OPS it would welcomed or I might see if I can bribe the dealer considering they fitted the towbar/wiring
