Just out of interest, what is normally on the LHS of the screen?

Presumably it houses some sort of additional icons to select from?

    But mine is just blank.

Can anyone with factory fitted RVC in say the new Tig confirm?

Ok just found out the answer myself:

Suppose to show the top view of the car.

Anybody who retrofitted the RVC getting this additional display option?

Or is it just me with this problem?

I'm still trying to make mine work.

I've noticed some people have wires sticking out from the cable that connects from the camera to the rns510?

The one I've got, just has a thick cable with a blue plug that runs into the back of the runs, no additional wires.

The other cable I've got had a plug on it and was told to cut it off? It reveals brown, yellow & red wire.

Do I have the right camera and cable?
    Dammit!!
Lucky I got it for free.

Will add picture of camera and cable asap.

That is if you have the ops for parking. You get that extra display if you enable the rvc in electronics rather than navigation. If you don't have ops, then only enable navigation rvc, else enable both navigation rvc and electronics module for ops rvc.

I do have OPS. So based on your response, I need to re-look at my VCDS coding again (and probably electronics module).

    Thanks!

Well I'm using FW 3970. That should be new enough.

Just need to work out what's missing with my VCDS coding.

    Ok fellas ... sweet success!

Bloody thing was harder to find than Osama Bin Ladin.

Of all places, to enable OPS to appear together with RVC on screen (if you have both) requires ticking an extra box in Module 10 - Park/Steer Assist. Makes perfect sense now (the location) in hindsight!

Prior to doing this, I only did this coding in Module 37 - Navigation:

And only got this when I select reverse gear:

Then had to press the RVC icon on screen to get this:

Now when I did this in Module 10, Byte 0, Bit 5:

I now get this automatically when I select reverse gear (i.e. no need to press RVC icon):

And also a big fcuking grin wider than Steve Tyler.

    Time to retire!

I and most people go for the budget version without those extra guidance lines when retrofitting!

Requires an extra module to be purchased.

A further cost and PITA to install that I'm not prepared to pay.

No offence, but do you really need those lines after while?
Might benefit the kids if they're starting to learn how to drive.

Reason why I've installed these now is:
    1) For the Mrs.
    2) Does help prevent kerb rash on my wheels at night time.
    3) Cost of the parts have come down quite a bit.
