Not a good idea!, But I have thought about it before but it is not very economical. R line 155 Tiguan will cost around 50k with all the options I have (leather, sunroof, Xenons ,etc etc). Then you have to add mod costs too (a new K04 tune, labor to transfer all the part across(turbo, suspension, exhaust etc ) will add up to around 55k.

My car have so far done 30k km and trade in value or private selling value will be around 30k Max. So If I swap the car I will loose about 25K plus new car warranty (I don't want to take the risk twice). I rather rebuild my engine with upgraded internals to create a real monster than trying to get body kit and a steering wheel

I am getting most parts of R line body kit has, arch extensions, rear bumper etc etc plus R line tiguan does not come with a quad exhaust

Fair enough. Though the new MY15 Tigs are going to come fully loaded with options so about the only thing you can spec on a 155 is sunroof and paint.

But yes you'll drop a lot of $ in the change-over so probably not worth it as you say (may as well spend the $ on a Stage 3 kit ).

I've considered it myself, however come up with the same equation. It's the same motor/drivetrain so the only thing I'm getting is the body kit and a reset on the odometer. Hard to justify with the $ you're going to drop on it.

Now a MQB platform with bigger boot/back seat, gen 3 EA888 motor is a different story... but they're still saying that it'll be another 2 years

Look like my quad exhaust dream is bit far away. Seller cancel the transaction and refunded the money saying, TNT courier service refused to take the package because package is just too big

Bugger, sorry to hear it as they do look the goods - might have to look into getting muffler with quad outlets fabricated?!

Yeah.. so sad I have a quad tip muffler suitable for a Mk6 GTI. And it can be connected to the Tig with some modifications to mounting hangers etc. But I really liked that complete package, rear bumper ,ABT muffler etc. I think I should leave the exhaust alone for now.

Finally new tune has released for ROW ..! Can't wait to get this tune flashed to my ECU. Hopefully DSG tune may go in as well if all went ok.
Also need to buy 3 Bar MAP sensor.

Do you have any dyno sheets for your rev3 tune for comparison? It would be interesting to get the before and after dynos as well as your feedback on the road performance.

I found this one on the APR Aus website. I am guessing this is for the "old" rev 3.0:



Looks like the new rev 3.1 tune kicks in a lot sooner (i.e. less lag). Even though peak numbers are down a bit, this should be a lot more driveable as a daily:

Yes team_v I was waiting for this long time reading some US forums Hopefully I get this tune within this month, I contacted Guy_H already and he will check my VIN is compatible for the software.

Tigger73, I have V2.2 version software now but APR recently announced those numbers are bit off from what they have advertised before. Even though it says 366 hp from old version files they recently change those numbers to around 335-340 hp for V2.2 or older version maps. And 360 hp is actually more accurate for V3.1 and will produce about 20 hp extra power and torque than previous maps.

This graph shows actual Dyno numbers comparing V2.2 and V3.1. (in case you are wandering what V3.0 is, it is same as V3.1 but with some errors so they corrected those errors in V3.1 and V3.0 was never got released world wide)
