    Power chip upgrade 125 TSI

    Hi all,
Has anyone upgraded the power chip (such as the one APR supplies) in a 125 TSI manual yet?
I am wondering how it affects the performance. At the moment in standard guise it just drastically cuts out all power in first gear once you get to the redline. Will the power chip help to smooth this out?
The claims from the suppliers seem to indicate that it will produce GTI like performance...wonder if this is true and worth the money or not?
    Thanks for your feedback.

    Definitely worth the money.
Bumps performance up to 189kw and 3XXNM of torque.
Better than GTI performance due to AWD being able to get the power down.

It smooths out the torque curve allowing constant acceleration.

    Unhappy

Great, thanks Team V. So I guess you will be doing it to your new 2010 on order???
Any suggestions as to a reputable fitter in Sydney. Do you know of any issues with the service / dealers re having this mod done? Would there be any way of them noticing it when running diagnostics, and then voiding warranty?
Please pardon my questions; I'm just a little unsure
    Thanks

Hey thanks mate. Sorry I didnt notice that thread before. Very new to the site and still working out how to use it properly!
Any ideas about lowering a Tig. Want to improve the looks and the handling. Prob go down a bout 1.5inch all round? Any threads that discuss this that you know of? Thanks

I have heard of these springs, but no place in Sydney seems to be able to get them in! The best response I got was from a place that said "bring in your car and we will see what we can fit in it once we take it apart..." (or words to that effect). Not willing to be a guinea pig for some guy to mess around with. Need someone who can supply and fit the tried and proven springs in one go. Any help as to where to go and get it done would be appreciated.

Speak to GTI Dave to get the springs.
They can be fitted at any suspension shop.
    Here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...o=newpm&u=9047
H&R is the way to go for suspension springs.

And yes, i will be hitting up APR to get the ecu remapped, intake upgraded and engine mount upgraded.

A member on here called GTi Dave can get you the H&R springs (PM him for a price, excellent service btw), any reputable mechanic should be able to fit them.

    SNAP lol

Great thanks guys! I will try and contact GTI Dave re the springs. (I am still getting used to working this all out) I'll def look into the APR stuff too. Keep us informed how it all goes too! would love to hear your feedback. How long after running in would you get it done? I've only got 20,000 on the clock. Thats prob fine now I reckon to do the chip?
