Picked up our new Tiguan

Well today we picked up our new Tiguan 147 TSI. A sister for my Golf R.

Although the new car is for the wife i was the more excited of us both, car looked great in its shiny Pepper Grey Paintwork.

Did have a few issues with the car today though, on first inspection i noticed some ill fitting and marked plastic trim which i wasn't too impressed about. One piece in particular will have to be replaced.

Have also found an issue with extensive wind buffeting with the drivers window down:

Also when the ignition is turned off a message saying 'Check Safe Locking! Owners Manual' is displayed on the MFD, have had a quick look in the owners manual but can't find an answer as to what it means, anyone help me?

The dealer is aware of the issues so hopefully they will be resolved quickly.

Other than the few problems we love the car and i'll post up some pics tomorrow..

I have never had the check safe locking message :|

Great car... we picked up the exact model and colour last week!

I get the same message about safe locking. I did come across it somewhere in the manual (don't have it in front of me). Think it was in the central locking or remote locking section. From memory it has something to do with a deadlock function the car has whereby you cant unlock the car from the inside if it is remotely locked.

Again, this is from memory, so I could be way off.

Enjoy the new toy... we love ours.
