One week old Tig goes get towed to service centre

Wondering if any of you experience or have any problem with the brake. I had my car for a week, did 900km+. This afternoon as I parked the car in my driveway... came back out after 5 minutes later, started up the engine and tried to have the hand brake off but the light on the button start flashing and the brake lights on the daskboard all fashed. Called up roadside assist... but the could not help over the phone... The mechanic arrived 45 minutes after that but couldn't get the brake off. Towed Truck arrived 1.5 hrs later and heading up to VW service centre. I called the service centre and told them that my car heading up their way... they told me that they'll have a look at it on monday.

Two of the back wheels locked up

Hopefully they get it sorted out asap.

When I first got my Tig the hand brake was completely silent. Just recently I noticed a little sound whenever I engage/disengage the hand brake. Does anyone have that? It's quite soft and not obvious so I might not have noticed it earlier.

My 147TSI did something like this in a public car park once. LED on the brake release was flashing and the brake wouldn't release. I had to turn the car off, take the key out, open then shut the driver door, put the key back in and start it then everything was OK.

I've had to do this reset process for odd issues a few times over the last year, sometimes the RCD-510 and MDI freeze and this seems to be the only way to get them working again.

Apparently they have had a few failures with foreign objects getting lodged under the switch (though I know that this is not the case in your failure).
Sounds like a mechanical failure - I'm impressed the Tiguan has feedback sensors to confirm the action is complete, not just actuate and dumbly turn the light off.
Sorry to hear that you had a problem, and a major one at that - major because it stopped you dead.

Friends of mine have had the electric parking brake jam on twice, having to be towed both times.

Their dealer proved fairly useless in sorting it out.

Problem in end was a foreign object (albeit small) lodged under the switch, as alluded to above.

Not sure same as yours re flashing lights etc, but sounds similar, certainly worth looking into.

I have this engaging and disengaging sounds with the handbrake. Just assumed it was all part of the system working. I've had it since day 1.
