Team V determined the price when they said they will take $150 each for them and then someone paid $150 each for them shortly after.

How is an asking price only a couple hundred above what some sold last night for "unrealistic", the fact they sold at that proves $150 is too cheap.

    Relax.

So anyway mine are still available and i'm asking $1,300.

Here are some others that ARE a bit pricey:

However, these OEM 17's sold in A DAY at about a thousand and one was scratched:

    Once again, relax.

    Hi all,

Hey I have finally got around to fitting the new 18" Detroit style (GTI) rims to my tiguan. Here is a quick pic that Tempe Tyres took after we fitted them:

Tempe Tyres: Gallery Close-Up (Volkswagon 2.7)

After all of the hassles I had in the past with other wheels etc from another supplier and manufacturer...(some of you may recall...'huge vibrations" thread), these can not be faulted! The ride is perfect, and there was not a hassle at all with the fitting etc. Oh I also forgot to mention, that they are designed to use the OEM bolts as well. The wheel drill holes are also shaped correctly for these special type of bolts required. This means that they fit flush as needed.

As these are made to the correct VW specs, there was no need for spacers, or any such thing. They fitted straight on without a problem. the sizing is 18 x 7.5 5x112 ET45

The tyres are Kuhmo KU31, 235 /50 R18 and are very quiet. They handle very well too compared to the standard Pirelli P6 mine came with.

I can not fault the guys at Tempe. Very good to deal with, and very proffesional. I would recommend that anyone searching for aftermarket wheels check them out. (and NO, I do not work there, nor am I being paid to say any of this. Haha)

Very nice!! I'm looking for 18 inch as well, either the A8 style or omanyt style at Tempe as well. Do you mind sharing how much you paid for it?

    Hi mate,
Sure. I dont mind sharing the price at all. All up, they cost $1400 for the wheels, Kuhmo tyres, fitting and balancing. I also used the option of GE 12 months interest free for an additional $100 odd dollars...

Not a bad price at all I reckon, as the previous set of Advanti concepts with tyres cost $2000 odd..

I am very happy with them. I parked alongside a GTI with the Genuine Detroits, and they are so similar it is amazing.

Not bad, they do look quite good in that style.
I would have gone 19" though, the 18's seem to look a bit too small (like the denver's do on the mk6 GTI)
