The ones on my car are 19x9 ET33 which would normally poke a bit, however I have the guard extensions to suit the wheels (or vice versa). The R-line kit would have the same fitment.

Just search for "audi hollow spoke 5" and you'll pull up a number of options for sourcing them. Though they are not a cheap wheel (especially if you buy from Audi).
    Thanks so much buddy.
I'll check them out. I'll only buy used. I hate consumption, happy finding treasure in others trash.

I found some 18 x 8 with 235/40/18. Will 35 offset be okay? will they stick out too much and maybe fowl on guards?
Now for a real rookie question, when the tires wear, can I swap the first two dead ones at one end to 235/45(or 50)/18 if needed to get back to correct original tyre diameter? Then do the other end when they wear. Or will this confuse the hell out of the computer or bind up shafts or something?

I would say you would have no problem with that size. I'm running wider (& lower) with ET35 with no issues whatsoever. (19 x 8.5 with 245/40/19)

Instead of swapping 2 worn tyres out for 2 of a different size, it would be better to regularly rotate all 4 so they wear evenly, then get 4 newies that are all the same...

Cheers MGV. Will do. Got rid of a front wheel drive Transporter, so used to rotating.

I'd say that rim fitment will be perfect, though the tyre size is going to be too small and your speedo will be a long way out. Just be careful as the legal size is on the tyre placard inside your fuel filler flap. For an 18" rim it's 235/50 R18.

You can go one tyre size either way but going 2 sizes is not legal in most states. It can also cause problems for your insurance so I'd recommend factoring in changing the tyres if you buy the wheels. It's not worth the risk.

Otherwise run your stock wheels a little longer (as long as you have enough legal tread) until you can afford new rubber and then put the new rims/tyres on your car.

Yeah I'll just get new tread from the get go and try sell the tires that come with them.
I think 50 is closer to stock(tough larger), not sure if I should go 45 or 50. Can anyone tell me is 45 silly low for pot holes, dirt roads/light 4WDing and medium strip U turns? Even 50 is low I know. Also would people rather gear down or up with their Tigs? I know there's not much in it, but still.

Just been doing a bit of research regarding larger wheels and tyres in QLD and thought it might be of help. I'm sure this will differ from state to state.

    1. "The maximum tyre width for a car or car derivative must not be more than 1.3 times the vehicle manufacturer’s widestoptional tyre."

This would mean in theory you could have a tyre 305 wide (assuming you could fit those within the guards and not break the next rule. lol)

    2. The wheel track of passenger cars (or derivatives) must notbe increased by more than 25mm beyond the maximumspecified by the vehicle manufacturer for the particularmodel. This means that the rim offset must not be changedby more than 12.5mm.

This one gets a bit tricky as the track on the 155 TSI R-line is 1575 (mm) compared to say a 132 TSI which is 1549 (mm). That means that in theory my 132 TSI could have wheels sticking out 25.5mm wider than standard. But the R-line does have the wheel arch extensions to hide the extra width..

    3. '''
Speedometer accuracy must be maintained for the selected tyre and rim combination."

Most speedo's are not accurate. I have checked my speedo against my GPS and found it under reads by 5% which explains why everyone was passing me. This means for my speedo to be more accurate I would have to change my 215/65/16 to 215/70/16. Or say a 245/50/18 instead of a standard 235/50/18.
Of course explaining all this to a cop who has pulled you over and reading your tyre placard might be a bit difficult.

Got some Audi SUV wheels 18" and put some 50 x 235s on them. Looks very generic, but without slamming it I don't think a Tiguan will ever look "cool". They should work well for me. Not sure if I should get some hub to rim centering adaptors. Anyone know where to get them?
Also got the windows tinted to darkest legal tint.

Nice OEM+ look. I would have thought if they were off an Audi that they would have 57.1mm centre bore. Anyway yes you're best off getting some centre rings to ensure the wheels are centred on your hub when you bolt them up. Otherwise you can get unwanted vibrations. Have a look on ebay and there's quite a few of different sizes. Also I'd be changing over the centre caps and putting VW ones in... but that's just personal choice.

yeah the VW caps didn't fit, and the Audi ones are 3d symbol so i can't stick a sticker over
I'll try figure out the Audi rim hole.
