    Going off the suggestions of many aftermarket wheel users on Vortex and on here (there are many references and reccomendations for offsets in this very thread) ET35 with 8.5" rim is right on the money. Remember your factory wheel offset is ET33, if you stay close to this the physics of the new wheel are much the same as the originals (weight distribution etc.) ET35 will also give you a much better, wider look. Unless you have lowered the car significantly (e.g. 3" plus) ET35 will cause no issues at all and give the closest driving characteristics to stock wheels.

    I suggest you check the sizing (including tyres) online, to come up with something you're happy with.

    Here's one website and there's plenty more like it:

    Just plonk in the stock wheel & tyre size and then what you're interested in. Then it'll tell you the difference between the two.

    Stock Bostons (factory wheels offset) on a 147TSI is ET43. So depends on what you regard as "original".

    MGV has a 125 tsi so his original ET will be 33 unless he got option wheels, which I'm guessing he didnt otherwise he wouldn't be looking for aftermarkets (i assume).

    ET is much less important than getting the same rolling diameter as stock (or within 2%) with your aftermarket wheel and tyre combination. Remember people run huge spacers (at the risk of starting anotehr argument) with no issues whatsoever that changes the ET significantly. As long as the tyres sit inside the edge of the guards and nothing rubs you're all good.

    The main reason i suggest Et35 is purely an asthetic one, they look damn good!

    Quick update:
    Have just had a reply from the Redline motorworks guys with this: "Since you have a VW Tiguan, the best offset would be ET45 so 19x8.5 ET45 5x112."
    Just awaiting a revised shipping quote... Hopefully somewhere closer to Aussietig's quote & those quoted from eBay.

    I am running 19 x 8.5 ET45's and they sit pretty flush.
    ET35's would be bang on flush because of the factory camber settings but the 45's still look decent enough for me.

    Not really going to make much of a difference unless you are on springs or coilies.

    Totally agree! I'm @ ET42 and with the KU31 245/45/19 tyres, there's just a little bit left.

    I'd hazard a guess and say:
    Factor in tyres with ET35 and it may potentially stick out just enough to present an annoying cleaning problem (if you don't have mudflaps).

    As mentioned earlier, easy cleaning/maintenance is more of a priority for me when it comes to wheel choice.
    So I'd play it safe with the ET45. But that's just me!

    So Matt which design are you getting a quote for?

    I still say V701s FTW! But I could be biased.

    Now because that's what I wanted, I had the sales guy @ VMR find me some pics of the V701s fitted.
    At the time, these were also the only official VMR pics of a Tig. But unfortunately only in 18".

    Thanks for the input... I'm a little more enlightened!!
    The factory Savannahs look pretty sweet, as do VMR's 701 model.
    Will get something rolling in the near future.
