Newbie: help upgrading RNS510 in MY13 Tiguan to RCD340/RCD330

    Hey everyone!

I promise i've read through everything I can find on the internet to figure out what is right, but there are so many combinations of things out there.

So here is my setup: just bought a 2013 tiguan tdi - loving it. It's got RNS510 with reverse camera, which I believe is the highline version because it has the bending guide lines as matched to the steering wheel angle sensor.

I'd like to upgrade this unit to something with Android Auto/Carplay - which looks like I want this RCD340 (http://aaautoparts.com.au/volkswagen...carplay-radio/).

Now i'd like to keep the reverse camera working. I don't need the guidelines but that would be nice.
And the integration with MFI/steering wheel buttons is also critical. I think i'll need an aliexpress rgb to rca converter for this to work?

Does anyone know how to do this? Any advice would be really appreciated. Also, I'm based in Surry Hills, Sydney - so if anyone has the VCDS/install skills that are needed i'd love a hand and can pay/gift/beer etc.

    Cheers!

You can't keep the highline camera with an RCD330.
Your best bet is to just use a cheap aftermarket camera. It will give a higher quality picture as it isn't being processed to add the guidelines.
You'll need to unplug the highline camera module in the boot on the right hand side and remove it from coding in the gateway installation list.
For steering wheel controls you should have it work out of the box.

    Thanks!

Does the MFD work with Bluetooth calling as well out of the box?

And do you think I need a new canbus gateway or will things just work?

Does anyone have a link to a good quality camera, and once things are installed can I buy someone a case of beer to help me do the coding with their vcds?

    Cheers everyone especially kamold!

    No MFD integration.
    Don't need to upgrade gateway.
