H&R do 35mm lowering springs specific for the tiguan.
GTIDave on the forums does good deals on them for forum members.
Will sit it a bit lower but still allows the functionality of a soft-roader.
Every time i see those wheels i wish i had got a black tig and murdered it out.

Gotta say Tigga I wasn't too sure about those wheels but they look tits! Will look even better when you get the H&Rs in :cool: What's the offset and width of the wheels?

The wheels are the 5 x 112 18" x 8". Probably not the widest available, but I didnt want to go too "fat". still about an inch wider per wheel than standard. That gives me 4" more road grip all around....
I have spoken with Dave re springs, and will prob get these soon. Or another place has offered to build a custom set-up including bushes etc... not sure yet. Have to wait a week or so to get this done. (it is killing me at the moment looking at it so high!!:(

Anyone with 18in New York rims changed the original tyre sets to Continental Cross Contact UHP 235/50R18?
I have been running the original terrible Goodyear directional tyres fitted OEM, the have been OK but I am looking forward to swapping to the Continentals. Does anyone also know a best price dealer in Melbourne. These tyres are expensive but the best I believe. I had a knife blade (snap off section on road...Grrr!)cut my tyre up today and it has a nail already so this will be the third hole if I get it fixed. I have only done 40K on them. Thanks!
What Goodyear tyres do you have? I have the Eagles and they stick like proverbial to a blanket and tread wear seems pretty good too :)Quote:

Thanks Capt Bungers for the heads up, yes well I do have the Goodyear Eagle F1's. Not sure if they are still made but I had them on my previous Telstar and they were terrible for wear on that but the wear I have had on the Tig has been OK and yes I agree they have never left the road, stick like glue. Maybe a forum member knows someone with Continentals on their Tiguan. I have a friend who just got them on a Captiva and he is very happy with them but I do acknowledge your concerns on bubbles and poor wear. I guess with tyres it's always a compromise as to performance and wear/mileage you get from them. These Contis are cheap in the USA and we get ripped off in Australia but my mate got some 55 profiles 18 in for around $350 each rather than more t$500 each.
I'll hopefully get a patch up repair so I can do some shopping around first. My friendly Goodyear Tyre man I know very well reckons Eagles are no good now as they say directional treads are a thing of the past for street cars, noisy etc. I'll post some prices back in a few days time but I guess MY08/09 owners must be due for a new set of tyres or already on their second set by now.

I agree with the noisy bit about the directional tyres! I'll be interested to see what you get because I am going to be heading to the tyre shop within the next 12 months as well...
