New Tiguan Tail-lights...can they be fitted to the previous model ???

Hi all,

I really love the look of the new Tiguan tail-lights. The LED look is very nice.

Could these be fitted to the previous model? Would the shape and screws / bolts be the same? What about the wiring?

There's a reference to this on Vortex (cbf finding it ), apparently the rear bumper is slightly different so you would need a whole new bumper assembly to pull it off Hardly seems worth it imo.

As Pullstarter said ..... the shape of lights are different and it won't fit without changing the entire rear bumper.

Can be done though, but will be $$$$$

Slightly O/T, but probably more affordable grabbing these other non-performance parts.

• Gloss Black Shark Fin Antenna (currently on the Mk6 Golfs with Sat Nav)
• Metallic Door Trim & Moulding (originally offered in Gen 1 R Line model overseas and now standard on the 155TSI)

As you can see from the pic, virtually every panel on the rear (including boot lid by my guess) would need to be changed for LED Tails.


And don't even dream about the flares!

We still can't get Savannahs here ... so they're not available also.


Still can't believe that there's that many leftover Mk5 Golf door handles, to continue using them on Gen 2 Tigs!

I prefer the MK5 door handles myself....
the MK6 ones are too chunky...it would ruin the smooth lines of the Tig

Hey so was thinking....

If anyone was unfortunate enough to have a small rear end accident, i wonder if the insurance company would approve using the new bumper and lights in the repair job?

I nearly stomped on the anchors just to serve a jerk in a hilux right earlier today...maybe I should have given in to temptation...

The funny thing is those door handles are on my mk4 haha... Even more left overs haha
