    New Tiguan owner.

    Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd say hello as i've been lurking here for a while.

Purchased a Pepper Grey 147 Tiguan about two weeks ago. Can't wait for it to arrive! I'm coming from a MY06 Subaru WRX, which I will be sad to see go, but it was time, as I don't think I can cope with the hard suspension, loud exhaust and the fact that the dog doesn't fit in it anymore!

Its currently sailing across the Indian on the Boheme, inching ever closer! I bought the car from Dermot at Wangara VW who I would highly recommend to anyone in WA.

Options that are on our vehicle are, Sunroof, RVC, MDI and Bluetooth. I was really hoping to find one with Bi-Xenon's but alas no dealer seems to order them in as stock.

Have found this forum so helpful already. Learning about how to track your vehicle and more interesting things like VAGcom.

Now I just have to sit around and be patient till about the 12/04 as that is when its is due to be ready!

    Cheers,
    MCL

    Congrats mate,
I'm in the process of purchasing a Tiguan for the Mrs at the moment, hopefully have one signed up in the next few days.

Purchased my Golf R from Dermot but unfortunately he hasn't been able to help me out with the Tig.

I also came from a MY06 WRX, trust me you won't be disappointed with the VW.

    Hi Prodigy,

I remember reading your thread on P-WRX about your R purchase! Very jealous.

I was really impressed with the acceleration of the Tig with the new DSG when I test drove it a couple of months ago. I had driven a 6 speed auto before, which didn't feel anywhere near as fast... Could've been dreaming though!

Now to try and convince myself that I don't need a stage 1 tune...

Good luck with that mate...If you can do that then you are a better man than me

I'm about to get the H&R springs done and am already thinking about the APRII...

Congrats on your purchase, I love my Tig. I love it even more since the visit to my local APR mechanic...

I suppose the stage 1 won't make it louder...

I was planning on keeping it standard, so far i've looked at rims, the possiblilty of tackling the bi-xenon install, buy a VAGcom for personalisation, and maybe fitting the RNS to it....

So I don't know how standard it will stay!

Stage 1 doesn't make it louder, it just unleashes the potential of the engine that is severly restricted from the factory so it won't canibalise sales of other vehicles.
    Definitely a worthy upgrade.

    Bi-xenon's aren't worth the hassle.
Just get some osram rallye 65W bulbs and it will make a big enough impact for you and only cost around $80 instead of $XXXX.xx

I'm already convinced about the advantages of the stage 1! Thanks guys!

I was planning on getting the Philips X-treme Power +80 seeing as they do them in H7's finally... The Bi-Xenon's seemed quite exxy after looking into it!

Now I should really be patient, as i've still got about a month to wait!

    A month isn't long.
4 Months was the limit for me, glad it didn't take any longer or i would have gone insane!

I have heard good things about the Philips but i am running the Osram Rallye's and so have a few other VW owners without faults.

They've been available locally for a while, but cheaper mailed from the UK. I bought a set 2 years ago, one blew last night (brighter=shorter life ). On the up side, a warning light comes up on the dash, and there's a nice little message identifying LH low beam fault upon start-up. Cute. I wonder ow many different messages they have in it
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km
