New grille(not in chrome)

Hey has anyone else seen the new Tigs out there that do not have the chrome grille? I have seen three now with a plain black plastic one...not as 'expensive looking'.

These were stock standard cars, not modified by the owners as some have done to create a sportier look...

Umm, Iall tiguan's have the "chrome" grill?!?
Some owners have sprayed them black (like me) but they come chrome from the factory for all markets worldwide.

You can get the ABT/other tuning firm grill's but they are basically just the surround.

Have you got any shots of the grill's in question?

I was very suprised too when I saw the first one, but three?!?
as I said too, they were not modified vehicles, just 'mums taxis' by the look of it.

I was wondering if the new models have been stripped down to save costs perhaps? Or is it a difference between diesel and petrol perhaps?

I haven't heard or seen any news of the revised grill.
I know the old hilux crew used to strip the chrome off their grill's to get it black so it could be done like that.

Mineis the only black one i have seen in real life though.

You sure some punks haven't just ripped the chrome off the grills as well as the badge.

Did they look like this? 2008 Diesel and 125TSi had black grills, changed to chrome in 2009.

Hey all I understand your doubts...I was spun out too when I saw it.

Turns out, that the above pic is correct. I went past one that parks at my local shopping centre again, and it is chrome around the outside, but plain black inside as the pic above shows. BUT it didnt have a chrome VW badge...just black.

I wanted to take a pic, but the lady was going back to it as I drove past..(.didnt want to look like a wierd stalker taking a pic.)
