Need help with new rims purchase

Im looking to get new rims but i dont know much about wheels.

I currently got the stock 16s on and looking to get 18's.

    The 18s im looking at is: 18x8 +35 5x112

    Now the stock 18's u can get are : 18x7.0 +43mm

is the 18s im looking at the right ones?

Also are 235/50-18 the right tire size for the 18's too?

    Thanks

what size tyres do you have as standard??

Use this tool to work out what wheels will be ok. Wheel Offset Calculator
so compared to the stock 18 option wheels the 8et35s will stick out a extra 21mm. This might be ok, but you will have to check. Do you have the width and offset of your stock 16s? that way we can work out how much more the 18x8s will stick out, then you can measure and have your own judgement.

    I am running 19 x 8 ET 35's so you will be fine (clearance wise) running an 18 x 8 ET 35

The next decision you will need to make is what size tyres to run.

I've checked the tyre calculator on that website and it says that i will be .9% off running 235/50-18 as compared to 215/65-16, so it should be fine as far as i can tell.

    According to info thread stock 16s are 16" rims: 16x6.5" ET33, 5x112

Standard tyres for 16" wheels are 215/65/16 so you should be fine as you will be out by less than 1km/h at speeds of 100km/h.

most good tyre and wheel retailers...(note: not franchised chain stores) will help you out.

Try Tempe Tyres in sydney. Their website will show the wheels specific for your your car....they will also put the correct sized tyres so your speedo is accurate...
