Well had the car checked by Dean and............ nothing wrong with it, dratts.... still not impressed with the extra ooomph, maybe its the auto gearbox, being the non Dsg, it always want to get to the higher gears in normal mode and when in sports its always at the high end of the rev range, theres not enough time in the sweet spot, manual mode is a lot better but still I wish I didnt go with APR, not worth it in my opinion, maybe a manual or dsg would be better but the Tig is heavy and doesnt feel as powerful then the same tune in a GTI. Oh Well, its still a great car but for day to day driving, there is no point in getting this APR tune if you have a non dsg 6 speed auto, its defiantly not "Massive" in terms of feel between before and after chip, you really have to have the pedal to the floor and then still it just feels a little more brisk... I think I will have put on a Dyno as I am interested to know if it is really making the extra power advertised.
can you get your money back? Would be a cheap price for silence

PS, my view is not against the Dealers, they have been great and supportive, there was an option to do a free trial before buying which I could have done before hand but I didnt, so I have no negative feelings towards these guys.[COLOR="Silver"]

To be honest I wasnt disappointed with my tune as it is pretty much inline with the claim by APR however their claims for some of their other tunes, like the Golf R tune and TSI tune for example, are just plain bogus!
Everyones butt dyno is different though so the only real way to end all questions in your head is to have a before and after dyno in similar weather with the same brand of fuel to see what the gains are.

It is dodgy marketing but lets be honest... making over 50 kw from just a tune with stock intake and exhaust? People really believe that??
Nindey, as mentioned by PM, you're welcome to try it in my manual. Not that it will be any use to you in your auto... But may be interesting none the less!
Also, as mentioned, i was mildly disappointed to begin with too... Switched back to the stock map last weekend for a 15 min run & it def. wasn't as much fun to drive...
So, in my opinion, certainly more spirited feeling, but no way a night/day difference.
Now how about that meet-up so i can have a listen to your exhaust? !!

Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
Based on that the tune doesn't give the performance that was expected?
I think the OP has hit it on the head, the customer service so far has been v.good. It appears that for his engine/trans combo, the tune doesn't make a lot of difference.
It's a shame the dealer can't do the dyno as it seems odd you'd have to pay for before/after dyno runs to prove the product doesn't perform as it should.
OP have you got a smartphone & one of the dyno apps? Maybe you could get some rough figures out of that?
Also, I don't recall you saying what fuel you were using.
