    H&R springs were around $500 delivered from GTI_Dave on this forum, excellent seller by the way I got my mechanic to install them, the rears are easy but the fronts a bit fidly so he told me, you need a special tool for the front struts apparently. Budget for a 4 wheel alignment afterwards too.

    Thanks, got a quote down here in Melbourne for roughly the same price form Traction Tyres and the Eibach were about $800 hundred so the H&Ms win out there considering they are of a similar quality.

    How close is the 42 offset for claerance on the front at the guard and the strut on full lock?

    Just put a deposit on a125 Black Tiguan with tan/beige leather but looking at the audi R6 S-Line wheels for some thing different, looked ok in aphotoshop mockup.

    Clearance seems ok, a little close but no rubbing on the strut. 18x8 offset 42 are sitting just inside the guard lips.

    Thread resurection!!

    Had the APR remap done yesterday and WOW!! What an amazing difference!! This thing pulls like a steam train. I won't go in to specifics as it's all been said before but if you have any doubts about this DON'T It is incredible and worth every cent!

    The other thing i've done is make up an air intake, no pics as yet but will post some up tomorrow, it's nice to hear the turbo spooling up and the diverter valve doing its job

    Awesome Simon ....

    I've only done 847km since I took delivery, checked on a short drive last night ... so at least 153km before I will be visiting Guy again ....

    At the current rate, that could take 2 months ..... which could be a good thing as the trip down past your valley to the snow cost me a fortune and I need the 2 months to recover from it .....

    (BTW spotted at least 10 Tiguans driving around Canberra as I went through, and not 1 was Black with RS4 wheels )

    You wouldn't really have come near my stomping ground on the way to the snow. I know what you mean about the cost down there, it's getting way out of control. I prefer to go there in summer on the mountain bike, much cheaper

    Lazarus thread lives again!

    Well after many lazy months of not photographing anything I decided to finally take some pics of the home made intake;

    I used some 3" exhaust pipe for the solid section, bought it with a 90 degree bend already done. The K&N Apollo filter uses a 70mm mount so I got a 75-70mm silicone reducer and some 80mm silicone pipe to join the MAF and the pipe at the other end. I had a bracket welded on the underside of the pipe which bolts onto one of the stock airbox mounts. Sprayed it in epoxy enamel and bob's your uncle. Well there was a considerable amount of swearing and abrasions I assure you.

    It sounds great! You can now clearly hear the DV but not it's not full uleh loud Also a little turbo whistle which is always good

    Also tried out some 16mm spacers to get an idea of what different offsets would look like;

    left side with spacer;

    right side without spacer;

    Gives me a good idea of what some 8" ET30 rims would look like and I gotta say I like it! Rim and tyre sit exactly where I want and no scrubbing or rubbing. Just gotta save up for 20" now
