Unfortunately not proper rain, just enough drizzle to make the car dirty should I wash it, not even enough to make our almost dry damns get any higher

The springs may be a while John, there's been a hold up somewhere and could be as long as 4-5 weeks away

I got the stubby antenna as well, (tks Tim) as I had fouling issues as well.
Works OK but I dare say on long trips the original will be better. Actually the one my dealer ordered as a replacement was around 50mm shorter than the one that came with the Tiguan so guys check them out if you have height issues on the antennas.

As for the Badge, I guess it adds a slight distinction like a M3 BMW badge.

Can you take some photos of your audio updates and it would have been good to show how to replace the speakers in the doors and where your Amp is located and secured. Keep posting!!! Good stuff. Your new wheels when you get them will transform your look. I reckon the 18inch wheels just make the car look so awesome over the 16in so glad I got them, but heck at $2300 they don't come cheap. My Tyre guy friend reckons the price differential is an extra $100 a tyre with the 18in so I'll freak when it is tyre change time.

Personally I reckon the 17inch should be standard, a bit like the Passat comes with low profile as standard.

There's not much to see really, the new speakers were installed in the stock factory locations so they're hidden (which is what I wanted). Don't have any pics of the install as I didn't do it myself, I'm over DIY installs LOL. Amp is located under the driver's seat, installer told me there's a rise in the floor there so they had to use some spacers to mount it at each end of the amp.

Dave, standard charge for a wash is "1 million dollars"

Thanks for the kind words guys, I'll be sure to post up more pics as things happen

    Simon, it looks good!

Have you had some thought about the black wheelarch strips ? On your Black car it does not show too much, but on the other colours it really shows up.

I'm thinking of having mine colour coded .......

Need to see it now with the wheels and drop though .... ... ETA ?

I did think about colour coding too Johan but as you say it doesn't show up too much against the black, I may change my mind on that I've been known to in the past

Waiting on springs, really not sure on an ETA for those, I think you're waiting on H&Rs too yes? Hopefully wheels will be on this week, waiting to hear back from wheel guy at the moment. Anyone want some near new rims and tyres?

I did mine myself, but sorry don't have photo's. Basically the OEM speakers are in a plastic all-in-one housing that sticks out a long way from the door. When replacing with 6 or 6 1/2 speakers, you need to make up a mounting spacer or else the rear of the speaker will hit against the window strut in the door. You can buy pre-made spacers, but my advice would be to make sure they are mdf, not the plastic ones - or make them yourself.

On the upside, VW never lets us down with really well sealed doors, all you need is a bit of extra sound deadening on the outer door skin and you've got probably the best sounding doors on the road!
