I don't think you'll find it has, well not "standard" anyway !! As far as I'm aware there are no Tigs in the World that have factory fitted paddles, DSG or slushbox.

Seriously thinking about getting a a flappy paddle steering wheel and fitting it. Think it would work great with DSG and make "D" a whole lot more driveable.

Folding mirrors should not be an option in Asian countries. Non folding ones certainly wouldn't last long in somewhere like Seoul.

DoggieHowser, am i correct in assuming you live in Singapore? or have you lived there before and owned a local Singapore Tiguan?

I must say that i am quite interested in the steering wheel swap.

    My impressions so far....

I am yet to run the car in properly (i want 1500klms on it before i really start to drive it) so i think my first impressions may be a little inaccurate but here i go. Nearly all my gripes so far are with the DSG box

With 350klms behind the wheel "D" should be "G" for Granny. I think around town "D" really will be a waste of time. 7 speed gearboxes are a little silly for 60kph speed zones.

The car shifts way to quickly for my liking from 1st to 2nd gear. Where i live i need to creep out of my driveway to check for traffic and once i see the all clear and drive away the box has been shifting from 1st to 2nd before the clutch has even been let out in first. This leaves me at about 1200rpm in second gear at about 15kph which then causes the clutch to slip. I am sure it wont be good for the clutch but to get it to kick down means i take off at the speed of sound which i don't want with a cold engine.

Manual mode is fine, though shifts can be a little clunky at times. This may be the engine/gearbox mounts, but time will tell and i will reserve my final judgement till the car is run in.

Auto hold works well but i find myself switching it on and off. It only takes 1% throttle response to make it let go but there are times where i just want to let the brake go and roll away. I am sure its a massive help with a manual, but i don't think the DSG really needs it. Hill hold assist would have been a better option i think

The car rides very well and handles very well for a small SUV. The seats are firm, but not uncomfortable. The driving position is a little unfamiliar to me (its my first SUV) but is also comfortable.

Fuel wise, i think this will be a great car as far as economy goes. My first tank of fuel in an unfamiliar car and i have 350klms on half a tank. MFD says 300klms left, but time will tell. What fuel it has in it i have no idea as it was filled for me when i picked it up from the dealer. I work for Caltex so it will only ever run on Vortex once this tank is gone

What am i hoping to do to it. ECU tune through Pulse Racing in Menai (yet to speak to Paul but pretty sure he should be able to tune it for me) slim line weather shields so i can wind the windows down a little when it rains. A tow bar and pending funds a Sat Nav system (i just need to find the good ones on eBay). I am also going to have a Complete Surface Solutions 3M film applied to the car to stop stone chips and bug damage to the paint.

Will see how the next 1200klms go and give some other impressions on the car then
