As stated before had the Hayman Reece bar fitted to our Tig in Nov last year, up untill now have not had a chance to give it any work.On Friday last week hooked up to our new camper trailer in Sydney and tower it up the F3 to Lake Macquarie. This trailer is fitted with LED lights and weighs in at 650 kgs-not a problem with the lights and not a problem for the Tig to pull at, and some times a little over, legal speeds. On some of the bigger hills only needed to drop 1 gear.Would love to have the motor out of VW ute slipped into my Tig,the 400nm would be just great.

Yeah, I am interested to see pics too please.
I have gone a different route though. I managed to find an OEM (well, manufactured by Best bars in NZ I believe) Tiguan Towbar from a smash repair place and got it for $400 I think. Fitted it up this weekend and was very impressed at the quality of the kit. Fitting was really easy. Now I am just waiting for the electrics kit to arrive from the UK (a mate is bringing it over for me as they would not ship to Aus). Fitting that up should be relatively easy by the looks of it, so hope it works as well as your setup.

Hi there. I fitted a Hayman Reese towbar to my Tig today. Job was done super neat and wiring works perfectly. And it cost <$900, which was a massive saving compared to the $1,700 quoted by VW. I have LED lights on my trailer and it all works fine. Very happy

Hi marek68 & Tigga2
any pictures you could share?
thanks
Do these tow bars have that thing that tells the car when a trailer is hooked up, so the car can adjust its braking bias accordingly?

I've often wondered how much impact this anti sway tech. has on things such as brake pad wear?
But also keen on the HR as well, be good to be able to just put the ball & arm away or in the boot when not needed.

Hi all,did try to post pictures but this computer knows more about me than I know about it and it just refused to accept them so I gave up.
Have fitted the ECB nudge bar, the 63 mm,and it fits well. Now I have to find some lights to fit same.
Would suggest that if you want to fit big or small round driving lights to your Tig that you fit the larger diameter bar as there is not much room between the bars on the 63mm job.

Can I just clarify with the Hayman Reese towbar, this includes all the electrics and there's no code throwing/error issues? $900 seems a lot easier to swallow than $1700.

Yes - you cannot get just the HR towbar on its own, or the HR electrics on their own. They come ONLY as a PACKAGE. And yes, it is expensive IMO too, which is why I installed my own and got my electrics (7 way bypass relay kit) from the UK and did it myself too. The HR electrics kit uses the same dodgy crimp-on scotch locks for the wiring, so it's not like you're getting better quality with the HR setup.
