    Mod questions/ideas

    Hey guys,
    I have a 147 TSI tiggers (2010)
having had a discussion with the wife, we've decided to drive the tiguan into the ground, thus resale is not a concern
Also i'm rather attached to it, but want to make it a bit different to the million other white suv's tooling around.

That being said, I was thinking of doing the following in no particular order:
    - Installing a golf r DSG knob instead of the stock T-bar shifter (i have an auto)
    - smoking the tail lights with nite shades
    - lowering springs
    - blow off valve (MUCH help needed with this) I have found one that allegedly fits a CAWB engine from turbosmart

Any thought/advice would be much appreciated

Hi Elby. Lowering springs work pretty well on your Tiguan, both for aesthetics & for flatter cornering/acceleration/braking. Effect is even more accentuated with a nice set of 18 or 19 inch rims. Does your 147 have the factory 18" New Yorks?

Not really a fan of the other 3 mod's you have listed though... Each to his/hers own i suppose! I tried smoking my tails a couple of years ago with film & it looked like i had mauve tail lights so i peeled it off the next morning...

I've got the 17" 5 spokers, any recommendations for springs?
With the other mods, I smoked my subaru's taillights and it looked great so hoping for the same result. The BOV is a very tentative maybe, as it looks like a chore to install....
keen on the new knob though

Yeah, maybe the film that i bought wasn't the best idea... Have to keep in mind the tinting of the tails isn't legal so if you ever had to make an insurance claim after someone rear-ended you, there could be grounds for non-payment...

Eibach make springs that will lower you around 25mm & H&R also that will give you around a 40mm drop. Both these have a good reputation.

Get the Eibachs if you're going to keep stock shocks. There's a few people that put in H&R but pulled them out because the additional lowering made the ride too firm.

just had a look under the car.... no chance of BOV its in the very bowels of the engine, might do springs though, do King or pedders do them for tiguans? I can't seem to find any only the eibach and h&r ones

You can access you diverter valve, just have to access from under the car on the drivers side just behind the wheel, it's not a fun job though. I have the GFB DV+ fitted. Also lowered on Eibach springs mentioned above.
