    MK6 Golf R Seats in a Tig

    Hi Guys/Girls.

Does anyone know if the MK6 Golf R seats would fit into a 2013 Tiguan ? I may have the opportunity to buy some but I'm unsure if they would fit.

I'm guessing you're talking front seats only. Rear seats I'm almost certain wouldn't fit.

I think you'd have half a chance with the fronts, but Guy would probably know for sure as he's put new seats in his Stage 3+ Tig.

Apart from the physical compatibility there would also be the airbag compatibilty and possible recoding to consider as well

Ok, I've found out that they are pretty much plug and play and you can modify the bracket easily so they sit up high.

The downside will be that there is no side guard for the bottom of the seat so you can see the framework underneath and that while the airbag would plug in, it wouldn't be shaped correctly or exit a the right part of the seat to provide adequate side protection. In other words, it's not worth the hassle.

Even if it was perfect insurance would have a field day unless it was a listed modification, and even then they would be rather shaky about modifying anything airbag wise.

Yep - airbag plugs are different (but can be swapped out if you can sort the correct VW plugs out), physically the Tiguan seats seem to sit about 20mm higher than Scirocco / Golf versions - su up / down adjustment will vary.

    Supportive Seats

Just wondering if anybody has successfully swapped their drivers seat for a sports type seat to give better support; or if there are any mods or other suggestions....thanks.
