Tyres - New tyres for Tiguan

47,000 km on the clock and time to replace the tyres. Has anybody else replaced the Hankook Dynapros and what with.

That's a very good mileage, I would be using the same unless I knew that the replacement will be a better/longer lasting tyre.

    I agree.
47k is quite an achievement for a tyre.

I will be going kumho's on mine but i don't know if they will last that distance.

On ~42k km I replaced the Pirelli P6's with Pirelli Scorpio STR's. It does what it's supposed to perfectly , and looks good on the "track&field" version...

47k is quite good, if you have been happy with them, as others have suggested I'd be seriously considering the same. I had a series 2 liberty with Michelin MXV3's on it and got 80k out of those (mostly hwy though) and was pretty happy with them all round. Let a tyre guy convince me some yokohamas were every bit as good and cheaper and quite frankly they simply weren't as good. So my experience for all its worth. If you have been very happy with them, unless your needs/driving will change, think carefully before you try somethign else.

    Hi Toner,

Stick with the Hankooks, unless you need better grip for offroad driving. They tend to "scrabble" a bit on the loose stuff.

Changed mine at 42000 km due to poor wheel alignment causing premature wear on one tyre, but the rear ones would easily have gone to 45000 km. This is better than I could ever achieve on at least 3 sets of Bridgestone Dueler HTs on my Forester.

Locally, its also the cheapest tyre available.

replaced my P6's with bridgestone dueller h/p sport at 55,000ks, now at 105,000ks and wondering what to try next - P6's are expensive here and don't know that I will be able to get the bridgestones for $150 ea. again...

I will be amazed if I get 47k out of the Dunlop Sport 01's I have, they have 21k on them and I think 30 k will pull them up. Might have to see how you go with the Hankooks

I am finding my 18" dueler hp sport to be noisy.. in fact the advan neova ad08s were quiter! will look at replacing it with either goodyear f1 assy 2 or michelin pss as they both come in 235 50 18n when the duelers die... but i feel it will be a while like 30-40,000km to go!
