    Just bought 2 Tiguans!

    Hi Everyone,

We've just bought 2 Tiguans; 1 white and 1 beige. Both 118TSI base spec.
Got excellent trade ins and am looking forward to taking delivery in a few weeks.
I found the forum by doing a google search. It seemed like a good idea since I'd had such a good experience with the Ford Forums and my soon to be old Territory.
I've had a quick look around the forums and am suitably impressed.
Seems like there's a lot of good info out their.

I hope not to be a newbie for too long

    Hi Transporter.

    Both manual.
The white one had the 'Comfort Pack' but apart from that they're base model no upgrades.
We traded a Mazda 3 and a Ford Territory Turbo Ghia.
I shall miss the grunt of the Terri but we don't need 1 big car anymore; with 2 P platers and 1 L plater we actually need lots of small cars!

2.8% finance at the moment is to hard to resist.

Well less than 3 weeks from entering the showroom we now have 2 new 118 TSIs.
Mine is white with mats and iPod cable.
Wife's in blue with comfort pack and fog lights as well .

Dealer was first rate. Bottle of wine and bunch of flowers as well as all the help and advice we needed.
First day is good so far. My 2 P plate driver have to wait a week or so to get their letter from the RTA, but my L plater has had her first drive.
Blue motion and hand brake take some getting used to but overall everything is good so far.
IPod interface (actual browsing etc) is the usual pale imitation of real thing. I will probably use BT interface as normal method but then you have to keep it charged. Is there a way of using the MDI plug but using the actual iPod for control? It is possible to do that ( ie iPhone allows for that) but it needs someone at VW to know what they're doing.

I take it the 2x P-Platers had to get approval to drive a turbo car? Was there a lot of mucking about / justification for this?

Asking because my daughter will be on Ls in 12 months & the only car available (wifes company car is off limits) is my turbo Skoda (1.8TSI/118kw). I'd prefer not to have to change cars - even when she gets on her Ps.

Turbo thing is easy. RTA has form to fill in for exemption on basis of low power turbo; pretty much all VW engines are listed. 30 mins and $27 per child and ten wait 10 days for letter. At least that's how it works in NSW.

What? The Tiguan is P-plater illegal? Rofl drove the thing on my reds and green and never got caught haha. I think it's because it is a SUV and the po po don't really care or realize.

Booked in. They're having to get a new file made for the new ECU. I'm quite impressed with the performance of the 1.4 engine already so am quite looking forward to seeing what transpires.
