Hi Guys
Just received an after market head from Erising and am in the process of installing it. Couple of things that don't jump out as obvious to me is that there are two free wires for "steering wheel control" for which I see no where that they obviously belong and another wire marked "illumi" again no where obvious for it to go. Any ideas? Help advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

With my aftermarket system all the wires were connected to a canbus controller which orgasnied everything so i didn't have to fiddle with individual connections.
The steering wheel controls may plug into the canbus.
Maybe try googling the unit name to see if anyone else has done an install.
HI ,any generic headunit is likely to encounter these types of problems. i might be wrong but my understanding is that steering wheel controls in the VW tiguan are all handled through electronical signals through the canbus. You will not be able to tap into these and will require a specific control module to deintrepret the signals. In your unit the steering wheel controller wire will detect minute changes in electrical resistences when buttons are pressed and is designed for older non canbus vehicles. Overall it is probably not worth pursuing and your headunit will obviously still work fine without these features. Once again only my opinion and glad to be corrected by anyone that has more experience.
Just plug in the canbus adapter, leave everything else unplugged (except aerials - radio, satnav) and all should be good.
