The plastic rings are fine and they shouldn't have decayed.
I'd probably say that you're getting the run around and maybe they never used the rings in the first place.
As for being scared about running these wheels with rings, most aftermarket wheels have a massive centre bore to fit over all hub centres, and then you just use the spacers as required.
Just remember that anyone getting paid $15 per hour isn't going to care about customer service and chances are there are no roads around the workshop to get the car to 100km/h without wasting too much time. Its a profit driven business and time is money.

    Hi all...again...
If anyone is still interested, I have finally got my wheels back from the tyre place.

The Advanti guys made up new metal locater rings, and these have been fitted this afternoon...

GUESS WHAT!! It seems to have fixed the issue so far. I have driven down a long sttretch of freeway at the same 115kph + speeds that previously had the car shaking violently. Hardly a wobble or anything now. I cant beleive it yet, so I will run them for a few days before resting easy.

But so far, so good. Whoda thought something like the little locater rings could have made such a difference?!?!
Oh I have the plastic ones too in the shed. Will see how the metal ones hold up.

Plastic and Rims should never have been mixed imo.
Considering the stresses that are applied to wheels during normal driving, i can't believe they even supply them as stock with any sort of plastic spacer thing.
But glad it worked out for you.

Glad to hear it's all been sorted out.
I would have been a bit worried with the plastic rings as well :|

IS EVERYONE TIRED OF HEARING FROM ME ABOUT THIS???

I am sure sick of bothering you all with the update...but guess what?!? The vibrations are back...just as bad as before!

Advanti wheels sent me to yet another shop to see if it was an issue with the original fitter etc...that didnt help.
So it is either the wheels themselves, or the tyres.

I have taken them off the car again, and refitted the oriiginals. The tyres shop has the wheels, and say they will work out what to do from here.

    SO FRUSTRATING>

    Man that's no good.
They really do look awesome on the black Tig.

Hopefully you can find a resolution in the tyres/proper on-car alignment or they ship you a new set of wheels and if that doesn't work then i guess you will have to change to a more reputable brand.

The problem is most likely with at the wheels. The dimensions and mating surfaces are not as they should be and they go off the center after a while. My advice would be move to different brand. How long is the warranty for their wheels?

    It's all good feedback.
Personally i'd be asking for a full refund at this point and going with a better quality brand of rims.
Dodgy tires/rims are not something you want to take a chance with. So even if they do get fixed up, i'd always be driving around with the thought in the back of my head that the 4 patches of rubber holding me to the road and not 100% connected to my car

Great advice guys. Thanks for all your feedback.

I thought that Advanti wheels were reputable?

Any better suggestions as to quality brands of wheels?

    Thanks for your patience.
