All of the above dealers had no stock delivery within 3-5 months!

Found a sutherland VW in sydney
White pacific base model drive away 36338
With Proper Leather Pack (factory fitted) + Sat Nav + RVC for 42100 Drive away! in stock now!

I found it really hard to get dealers to budge on prices... but happy with what i got in the end

but yea Im flying down to sydney for a holiday and driving it up!
    TJ9630,
Are they registering it in NSW first prior to you taking it back up to QLD, I assume QLD as you said Austral & Bryant Byrt.
I did the reverse and brought in QLD and then drove to NSW.
One thing to be aware of though. If you transfer the rego across to the other state. You can claim back the rego and third party, but you don't get the stamp duty refunded. Then when you register it in the other state you get hit with the stamp duty again for that appropriate state.
Something to weigh up when getting a car in stock from another State vs a 6mth wait.

Yup Yup! it took a bit of logistics planning to get the car up,

    transport was $1300.

The guys @ sutherland offered to pay for a Unregistered Car permit for 3 days, so I can drive the car up to brissie, and pay the rego and stamp duty when I get up here.... So yeah I dont pay the NSW stampduty+rego!

So it works out pretty good in the end!

These were all auto prices, so take 2500 off to get manual...

When I bought my car interstate (as the local dealer wouldn't play ball on price) I flew over and drove back on a permit, then registered and paid stamp duty etc.

It may cost a little more but if you use the car for work purposes you can claim the travel costs back on tax.

And the interstate dealers are often keen to get a sale. If they get an interstate enquiry they are pretty sure they've got a serious buyer so are likely to give their best price. It's a sale that they otherwise wouldn't have got so they may be prepared to go a little lower.

It really hasn't cost them much to get the enquiry (hasn't tied their salesman up for hours, cost them time & $ doing test drives, petrol/rego/insurance/depreciation for demo cars etc). Also they know if there are any issues post delivery then it's not going to be their problem (well that's the way the sales guys will see it anyway).

So all that said the interstate (and regional) dealers should be able to come up with a competitive price if they take out all the "cost of sale" items out of their price.

Certainly pays to shop around once you've finalised on your model/colour/list of accessories.

    Angry Picked up tiguan

Picked up the tiguan from vw Sutherland...

Did all things in the new car check list however... Theyh wouldn't give me the sat nav disc... Apparently I shouldn't need it cos all dealers should do updates when they service your car... And eh wouldn't give me my radio code... Apparently all dealers should be able to look it up if required and it's only really needed when the battery is changed/ disconnected...

I dunno.. I could really sit there are chuck a hissy fit too much... I hope I won't be burnt by missing those things..

Otherwise the car is a beauty, really enjoyed taking the car for 1000kms up back to brissie....

Now I'm purchasing a whole heap of nano lex car care products... And I've been trying to find rubber mats for the bloody car!!! Nothing fits!!! I might just have to buy them from the dealer!!! The uk assessories are selling back and front mats for around 180 inc shipping...

In other news someone banged their door into my door left a tiny dint and some red paint

Hi tj9630...Congratulations on your new purchase. I myself picked up the 155 TSi in early June this year and its a fab car. I am sure you would have enjoyed your 1000 km cruise...and the car will give you a lot more pleasure over time.

On the matter regarding the NAV disk, i insisted the dealer provide this to me (based on information else where in this forum) and they agreed to have it ordered. Apparently there is an update to the current maps and they have not received the updated disk either. You should insist that the disk be ordered for you if you really want it.

As for the radio codes, I got spun a story about how it is a rolling code and is seeded in the factory (almost like 2 Factor Authentication). Therefore any code they give me now may be obsolete by the time I need to use it. I didn't quite buy the story - as it seems too much trouble for a radio code. But given I had a factory installed RNS 510 if I run into any trouble I will take the vehicle back to my dealer for a fix.

Your dealer should also be able to throw in the rubber mats...just press them for it. They cave in eventually. I got a set of Carpet mats and rubber mats (Original VW) from the dealer. If this fails I also found that Autobhan (in Granville Sydney) had cheap rubber mats that could easily be cut to size and fit well - for under $40.

    Hahaha hey bman,

when we were negotiating prices, I ask for $$ discount, then he "hmmm and ahhhed" for a bit an said to me thats without carpet mats right... I was like yeah ok whatever take away the matts! the discount $ was far more substantial than the matts at the dealer was charging heaps for the matts! they were cheap in brissie...

I prob wont chase after the Map cd, theres heaps of copies you can download off the forums, I had 4.1 installed with latest firmware 4020, So I just installed just then V5 map pack...

but thanks for the advice on the radio code, I was a bit weary about it! Mines also the 2012 RNS510 H64 from factory..

I got offered a 132TSI Pacific manual (comfort pack, park assist and fog lights standard) with sunroof for $35,800 driveaway. I think this is a fairly decent price, with little to be gained from shopping around. Thoughts?

I reckon that's a pretty good deal!! I don't think u will get a lot more off if any by running around...
But always if u want u can... If you want call up and say make "it an even 35k u can have my credit card details... " that's what I did!

I've done some looking around and managed to get the original price a bit lower ($35.5k), so will pull the trigger while seeing if they can throw in tint and iPod cable. Quite a lot of car for the money!

Just ordered my Tiguan, it's a factory order though so the wait begins! February next year is their best guess.

    Tiguan 132TSI Pacific
    Candy White
    Auto
    Black Leather
    Comfort pack (standard on Pacific)
    Tints

$40595 drive away. Think I got a reasonable deal, something to do with end of month etc.
