Tanaladta, have a read of this thread from the start? It might help you. Try this link for a price comparison that sanman developed:

There is also a thread on extended warranties which may assist you. Just have a search for warranty as I'm sure this will assist you, if not then ask.

    Pricing

Can anyone give me a guide as to what sort of discount I can expect to negotiate when buying a brand new Tiguan? I have received a quote of about 5% discount. I have never bought a new car and I am unsure how much bargaining power I have. Cheers.

First, check to see if you are a member of a group/association or a company that has a discount arrangement with VW Australia. Generally this is a 50% discount on dealer charges ($1495 in my case).

Next, if you are organising a drive-away deal, the insurer (generally Allianz) offers a substantial "kick-back" to the dealer for signing you up to them. This can be a few thousand dollars ($2910 in my case).

Next, it is when you go to make the deal. If you go during a sale, then you are not going to get too much because they have buyers lining up. You might try just after a sale as the sales guys have trouble meeting their monthly sales targets. If they don't they generally don't get paid.

Overall, you should be getting a minimum of 10% excluding any trade-in. On the trade-in, do some research on the Internet to see what the typical trade-in price is and the range. If the dealer wants to close the sale, they will give you a trade-in at the high end of the range, whereas if they do not want to close the sale, they will give you the minimum.

Ultimately it comes down to this. You have a car and would like to get a new one. The dealer has a new car that they must sell. If they don't then it costs them in financing it. Don't think that you have to accept the first price that you are given that has a discount on it.

You do not have to buy a car from your closest dealer. Apart from the initial service, ANY dealer can do the scheduled services and repairs under warranty.

    Are u talking the MY11 or MY12?

For MY11, check if the dealer till have any qouta of the Sep Driveaway deal left... Sometime they do have 1 or 2... like i went with my frd 2 weeks ago to look a GTI, which passed the Oct Golf driveaway deal. but dealer still have some qoutas depends if that cars has the options u want.

Better to get a car they have in stock.. not much wait time, for u and salesman to close the case. MY11 stock should have to be cleared out. On my friends invoice, with on road cost and options totalled over 6k off the RRP and half price window tint.

I'd not pay for the dealer delivery. Free MDI, bluetooth, comfort pack...etc, since a lot of stocks already has those installed.

Remember!! Be prepared to walk away if the deal not as u wanted. Make them want the sales than u do.

Wai - I dont know what this statement is talking about? What insurance are you referring to? I am looking at a MY12 155 Tiguan. There is no insurance mentioned in the quote.

I used New Cars to get a pricing guide adn then went to the dealer with that.
Managed a 9% discount of RRP with little to no haggling and no memberships.

    tiguan 155 price

Dont know if I am allowed to ask on here but I really dont know if I might be getting a raw deal.

I have been quoted: Tiguan MY12 155 all inclusive on road for $49000 including leather seats, mud flaps, tinting and floor mats.

Does this sound reasonable? My dealer has one in stock and i could have it immediately. No trade.

Anyone with experience in the 155 market yet??? (please .....)

You have 2 threads about the pricing on the first screen in the Tiguan section and you feel the need to start your own thread.
