Yes, I am expecting to bring that down. I already have a rep from another dealership saying he will better whatever their price is. Of course, I won't be telling him that price!

That's a good idea. I don't know how sucesful I will be though. I expect there will be a fair demand for the new facelift model and they won't be needing to look for sales. Still, I don't want the car to be plated this year so I'm happy to wait. Dealer said 5mnths build time anyway.
Got a RAV and the ASX initial price today as well so will have to think about those too now.
Pepper grey is an $800 option??

After test driving an ASX Aspire for a day, I would never buy one. Every time I put the indicator on I was scared the lever would break off in my hand!! Everythign about it was clunky and cheap, for a not so cheap car (in comparison). I have owned a RAV before, and had no problems with it. But compared to the quality of the Tig... it is worth the wait

That's good to hear neets. I have looked over the ASX and wasn't thrilled, but then they do claim that impressive fuel economy. I was really keen on the first RAV's but when I was ready to get one they changed to that different body shape which I wasn't a fan of. Now they seem to have come back a little to a better look.
Japanese vs German....hmmmm
Hello,
Me and my wife have planned to purchase this amazing machine, or I should say that I have been successful in convincing my Mrs to go ahead with VW tig.
The only problem... getting a good deal. We test drove the vehicle last week and were ready to place the order but the dealer didn't budge on price - no discounts, no reduction, just free mats.
Heartbroken, we got back.. Have been reading/posting a few threads to get a better understanding before I go through the negotiation process again. (This is our 1st new car purchase)
We are based in Melbourne.. Would you know of any good dealers who can give us a reasonable price here.
Also, we are interested in purchasing the new 2012 facelifted model.. Any info on what are the standard options on this new 2012 model, this will help us decide selecting the right options without blowing our budget.
Cheers
