that seems very good price, well done.

I'm sure it won't be your last. Then again, Subaru do a very nice car too - there's nothing wrong with them, really.

Pricing Spreadsheet to check your prices

I've taken all 20 prices people have posted in this and other threads and put them in a pricing spreadsheet that compares the RRP with what people paid, and then calculates the percentage discount. 13% was the best seen, but 10% would be a reasonable aim.
The better discounts are using "fleet pricing" which is actually available to individual buyers if you want to fill out a couple of forms. This gives about a $3k discount.

Instructions - put a "1" in the column for each option you have, put in the purchase price, it will calculate the rest.
Spreadsheet can be corrected/updated with new purchases.
Name of original poster and date of deal is there if you want to contact them to find out dealership etc.
UPDATED with new link -hopefully you can view and edit now

I'd set up a gmail account and then upload the spreadsheet into Google Docs. You can then share the spreadsheet and post the public URL in this thread.

Hi all. $39k drive away price for 125tsi auto with metallic paint, sunroof and comfort pack.

Haven't made a deal yet because I'm thinking of trading in my old car. Do you guys think they will lower the price if I tell them I want to trade in my car?

Love to hear some feedback. Thanks.

That's a very good price. 13% off RRP. I assume that's with fleet discount.
The trade in price should be independent of the main price. The dealer now knows you're interested and will be looking to recover something from the deal by giving you a poor trade in price. Try a couple of other dealers with the same package, with trade, and see how high your trade price will go. Then go back to your original dealer and try to get your $39k deal with your best tradein price

I agree, that's a great price. Nail his feet down to that one - trade or no trade.
