I've got the paperwork here in front of me, but i'm afraid none of it is itemised on the invoice. Now that i think about it, the bit of paper with all the itemised prices on it is at work! I'll check on Monday for you if you like. But from the paperwork i have here, i can tell you the total cost of the car was $56073(this includes stamp duty and reg fees) + $1405 (dealer deliver) to bring it up to $58178 on road which was for

Just noticed that you're in Brisbane too. I got a quote last week. The figures are exactly the same as mine except for CTP. I had $329.00 for CTP - I notice that you had $595. You might want to query that.
The dealer offered me a $2000 discount or three years worth of service. Is the three years service worth it? I've experienced a dealer (Mazda - I'm not a VW owner yet) with really bad service. If this is the case it may mean that you are stuck with them for three years and can't take your car anywhere else. Can anyone comment on their experience with VW service in the Brisbane area?
Was chatting with a mate of mine that's in the auto industry and he was saying the behavior they're seeing from Dealers seems counter-intuitive at the moment, though when you think of it it makes sense.
With the time's being tough, they're obviously moving less vehicles, so what they're trying to do is maximise their profits from each sale. Not only are they pressuring the manufacturers/importers to give bigger discounts/commissions/etc saying that they need the incentives to pass on to the customers, but they're less willing to cut their dealer delivery charges. When times were better and they were moving more they were willing to discount dealer delivery just to move the cars.
Point is, they still want the sale, but you're going to have to play very hardline tactics to get the bigger discounts on dealer delivery and get the extra's thrown in.
Well off to hunt again this weekend, I have spoken to a Sales person on the Sunshine Coast and will hopefully see him saturday or monday. He said he has to deliver 2 cars on Saturday to Brisbane, so he has to see if he has enough time.
Will let you guys know what kind of price I get from the Sunshine Coast dealer.
Well Garry Creek on the Sunny Coast did this deal
